Some great attendances in those days, I’ve just been looking at some of these postings and the corresponding results from the 1950’s, early 60’s as my Dad was a match going City fan in those days, along with his brothers.

First game of the 1960-61 season.

À 0-0 in the League Cup on the day i was born, and as I arrived around 0230, I assume the game was after that.

It was the first of three matches to decide the tie, which we eventually won 4-2, anf an 3-3 draw in the second game. We'd also played them on the Saturday before, two days previously, and that ended 2-2.

The first league game after my birth was a 0-1 defeat to Blackburn Rovers at Maine Road.
