What was the most encouraging thing about that performance.

I think Tevez and Ade clicked for the first time and I hope that partnership will only get better from here on in. They looked lethal tonight, didn't they?
 
Attacking 4-4-2 from the start. That and to be fair, though Laws wanted it called off, his players didn't go flying in to make it dangerous.

We played like a team, everybody knew what they were doing, great to see

Correct. All it needed was one of them then to fall over and blag an injury
 
Mancini-even though we were 3-0 up inside 7 minutes he was absolutely furious when we kept missing easy chances. He did not even smile when Adebayor made it 5-0, it was more of an "about bloody time." Never satisfied, the mark of a true winner!
 
I agree the ade/tevez partnership looked alot better, looks like their gelling now.

I would say how disciplined we were, not as many cheap free-kicks given away today, even when the pitch was bad we didn't jump in and do any dangerous tackles, anything dangerous could of made the referee think twice about the conditions for health and safety.

we didn't treat the ball like a hot potato, and in the shocking conditions we tried to get the ball down and play football, it was good to see.

the team spirit was there today, even after the 4th everyone ran over and celebrated together, looked good!

and most of all the passion was there today to see.

I agree the front 4 clicked tonight. But it was great to see that a team there for the taking ,as Burnley were, were well and truly taken.

Unlike some other games we went straight onto the front foot and stayed there till the game was over.
 
Credit where its due to Wiley, I still hate him for that debacle at the swamp earlier in the season but thought he handled the pitch situation well and no bookings either.
 
We were electrifying in the first half. Not many would have lived with us, I feel sure. I just hope this gives the players the confidence and self-belief they need to bomb on from here and take enough points to keep us ahead of our rivals. I think we are better than the others.
 
Im with the OP.The partnership should work good style with a bit of work on the training ground.Everything you would look for in a fromt two you can find with CT AND EA.Just needs a bit of patience.

If today was us clicking, the others don't stand a chance. Too early to say, unfortunately.
 
1. Tevez and Adebayor clicking - looked lethal

3. Fact that we played with tempo from the very off, put pressure on high up the pitch, rather than sitting back and letting other team settle, even dictate. Should be doing the same in every game from here on in - few teams (incluidng Villa and Spurs) will live with us if we do.

too many times this season we have looked to contain and only showed any urgency once we have gone behind
 
The cultured display in the second half where we played the conditions and didn't fly in to challenges or press our opponents and therefore gave the Ref no opportinty to abandon the Game. Very impressive.
