It's funny how certain things end up being every other sentence on here. Last season it was the 6-1 and United loosing to Blackburn at home. This season it's 'Still need to click' and 'unbeaten in the league'. As with last season, without the strongest last 6 games the world has ever seen, they were in danger of becoming the entire season without the actual trophy itself. I never wanted to look back on last season and say "Yeah, you remember the time we smashed those twats 6-1 in their own back yard?", I wanted to say "How fucking good was winning the league?".
I don't think we'll go the entire season unbeaten, but as long as we start winning more games that doesn't bother me at all. I'll lose the same 5 games we did last season if it means winning the league. I think we were a little naive in going hell for leather at the start of last season, and burning out over Christmas is possibly something we're looking to avoid playing how we are now, it's difficult to tell and I'm not management, so I can only guess. But in playing barely good enough you still have to win games and look convincing from time to time, just to remind everyone we can. The way we've crashed out of Europe and not really comprehensively hammered anyone yet would indicate we're in a little more bother.
Of course if we suddenly look brilliant at the weekend and run out winners, all this will be forgotten and we'll be back to world beaters with even a world class tea lady by dinner time! And if we lose we're doomed, league is definitely lost, no way back, 6 points too much, Mancini out, etc.
The longer it continues this needing to click thing is starting to sound more and more like hope than just being a matter of time.
