What will you be happy with next season?

A team that plays to its absolute maximum.

With a spine of Hart, Kompany, Yaya, Silva and Aguero we under-performed last season.

Pellegrini should find a system that suits the players brings out the best in them.

If the rumoured signings of Pogba, Sterling and De Bruyne happen, I think we have a great chance of winning the league.

The FA Cup would be nice and a longer run in the Champion's League too, even getting to the semi finals would be an achievement I think.

A domestic treble would be unbelievable! But 2nd place with the Cup double or the League title with either one of the cups would be an excellent achievement. However, minimum acceptable performance would be challenging the League title until the last day with very deep Cup runs.

I'm more interested in seeing an evolution of the team than anything else. Winning things would be a real bonus, but I really want to see a team starting a new cycle and being less reliant on the old guard, so we can at the very least see what the future should look like. Top 2 minimum though, along with at least one strong cup run and hopefully a CL QF at the least.

I am very positive about next season. In terms of defence, Hart is back to his best, Zaba showed signs at the end of the season that he was regaining his old form, if Vinny can stay injury free next season he could be like a new world class signing and Mangala has had a year to get used to the Premier League. As for midfield, Yaya under performed for certain reasons last season mainly due to uncertainty over future which has now been cleared up, also if he is retiring from international duty then there won't be the mid season interruption of AFCON so if he regains his form of 2 seasons ago then Yaya & Kompany could be like making 2 world class signings. Silva has a full summer of rest and is reportedly having an ankle op to treat a problem he's had for years and we all know how good El Mago already is so imagine how good he could be next year with no ankle problems and no tournament football. As for strikers, Sergio had his best goal scoring season at City last year and is only getting better. He also seems to have cured the problems with his hamstrings which could mean a full season next year and is easily capable of getting 30+ goals. The core of the team (Hart-Kompany-Yaya-Silva-Aguero) all being back to their best is an exciting prospect and when you add potential signings e.g. Sterling, Pogba, Firmino then things are looking up. From a mentality point of view I think we are in a better position for this season purely because of the fact that we seem to be better when we are trying to regain the title rather than retain the title which I suppose is only human nature to be more motivated when you are chasing something as opposed to holding onto it. On the flip side of the coin Chelsea have to motivate themselves to win back to back titles which is not easy and they have to cope with the pressure of being champions and everyone wanting to beat you that little bit more. As for our other 'challengers' the gooners always bottle it because they see 4th place as a trophy and don't have a winning mentality and the rags don't have the luxury of a weeks rest between each game anymore so they wont be as fresh in the PL and will probably pick up more injuries due to a heavier schedule. If all of this goes to plan I think we are in for a good season oh and white shorts pls Nike.

We had an issue in domestic football a few years ago, which was similar to what we're facing in Europe now. There were quite a few 'big games' which we just didn't know how to win - the main one is the Carling cup semi-final vs Utd or losing to Spurs 1-0 which led to us missing out on fourth place. The following season, (10/11) we beat Spurs in a similar game which ensured Champions League football the following season, AND more importantly beat Utd in the FA cup semi final.

Since then we've not looked back on a domestic level, but the same can't be said about Europe. I know we beat Munich 3 out of 6 times we've faced them (One being in the Allianz), but all three of these games were near enough dead rubbers for them, the first games in each campaign we were beaten fairly comfortably. Eventually we will beat a Barca/Madrid/Bayern in the knock out phase, and from that point onwards I think our players will gain more self-belief which will help us get to the next level, it's just a matter of time - and hopefully it will be next season.

All in all, I'd 'like' to see us win something/anything next year, but I feel the most important part would be to compete in Europe and to integrate newer, younger players who can freshen up the squad moving forward. I expect we'll be there or there abouts in the league - the first step is a BIG signing, not Raheem Sterling, but someone like Pogba who will show other clubs/players our intentions!

1, 2, 1, 2 in the last four seasons finishing is not to be sniffed at. It's excellent.

Just over 7 weeks to the start of the new season - So Do you think that our transfers will be soon?.(if any).
The money being quoted in the press is Stupid. How much do we want Sterling? - £40M is steep to me. Will we get Pogba? - I do not think we will. Will we get De Bruyne ? -
well maybe. I know that our Chaiman has promised "Star " signings. How will we sort out our Home Grown quota now that we have lost Lamps , Boy Otter , Sinclair and Micah.
Interesting times ahead people.!.

For me, only thing that matters is prem title anything else on top of that is a bonus. Europe, couldn't really give a stuff.
