What would you change about the rules of football?

if you are offside in the 6-yard box, you are offside, none of this are you interfering with play rubbish when you are that close to the goal.
I'd be tempted to extend it to the 18-yard box, tbh.
Even if you don't actively get involved with the play, the defender and keeper still have to keep an eye on you and almost treat you as onside in case someone is actually playing them on
Said exactly the same in another post. Good shout !

This isn't a "rule" of association football, but pretty standard- I would make it so that a 0-0 draw results in reduction of a point from each team. That would encourage attacking from both sides in that instance.

I like this. Heck even zero points for a 0-0 rather than one would be a good change.

I'd like to see a big change to the throw-in rule:
1) opposition players must be 5 yards away
2) ball can be put into play however you like as long as it's touched by another player within 5 yards (underarm roll, short kick)
3) current rules apply for longer throws, but both feet on the ground actually enforced
4) throw must be taken from no further forward than where it went out
5) 8 seconds to release the ball once the throwing team has possession, with a 5 second count down by the ref, like for goalkeepers. Drying the ball or switching thrower must still be done within the 8 seconds.
6) Any infraction results in the throw being given to the other team

This would speed the game up, reduce the time wasting, and allow a team to more easily retain possession, which should be their right, if the other team put the ball out of play.

1&2 are interesting points,as things currently stand it's referred to as winning a throw-in but in reality at the point of the throw-in the team in possession are a man down, and therefore more likely to lose possession.
Your ideas would reduce the likelihood of this happening.

If a player is injured and the game is stopped, then that player must leave the pitch for as long as the stoppage, unless he's substituted

This . Offside in the penalty area is always interfering with play . I honestly think these grey areas have been brought in in order to create discussion points and debates for television . It keeps eyes on the page etc etc . Seems to be working .... the endless coverage whips up the storm , clubs appealing decisions and the referees loose confidence and competence .

On throw ins. The player can throw it from anywhere in the cut of grass that goes up the pitch - usually 6 yards each i think - that the ball went out. If they go further, then the opposition get the throw in from where ever they want. It would stop players tiptoeing up the pitch way beyond where it went out.
Oh, and scrap off side.

Goal keeper is not allowed out of the box. How many times do you see an attack fail because the keepers acting like a sweeper. Make for more goals.
