What would you change about the rules of football?

This whole extra points for goals malarkey does my swede in, the game is about defences too.
We'll end up with games like basketball if we don't watch.
The treatment during play is a good idea but managers like Arteta will just instruct their players to pass the ball towards the injured player and physio, the ref would then have to stop the game anyway

Apply the rules equally and fairly for both sides with no taking into account the skill levels of the opposition, what would make the game better in the view of the pundits/neutrals at home should be irrelevant to a referees decision making, make sure a foul in the first minute is penalised the same way it would be in the 81st minute, enforce the various rules in place to stop timewasting, actually give yellow cards to the divers, etc, etc.
The rules are fine, they just need to be applied fairly.

Imagine if you got a point for every goal you scored,
but you lost a point for every goal you conceded hahaha
Ha yeah.
Look, we all know the game isn't perfect but i'd hope they wouldn't fuck about with it too much. It's a simple game and should remain so.
Rugby union is a complete fucking mess with rule changes nearly every year, refs have an impossible job due to this as coaches just work out how to cheat better

Have women with massive tits parading around the pitch at half time - it’ll ensure those that really need a drink / bite to eat will get served fastest.
Equality at its finest.

When a free kick is given near the corner flag, stop the player taking the free kick throwing the ball 10 foot further down the pitch.it isn't allowed on any other part of the pitch.

This works very well in egg chasing!
I think in football, the advantage to the attacking team would be even more pronounced than in Rugby. The percentage differences must speak for themselves.

Drives me mad when we get a free kick just outside the box. An attacking team should not be ‘penalised’ for being fouled closer to the goal than the optimum for toking advantage of such a step.

I know an ex-pro, in fact he was captain of his team for many years, and his idea is that once the ball is in the opposition's half you shouldn't be allowed to pass it backwards into your own half.
I tell him it's nuts but he insists it would make for better viewing.

Sin bin instead of yellow cards for ten minutes and penalties can be taken by substitutes as were not sure who will score

VAR get a max of 10 seconds for offside. No lines, no 3D computer animations 20 minutes after the incident, have a quick look and see if it's an obvious error. If not, onfield decision stands

Rather than half time, could it be the 88th minute to try and keep some of the crowd in?

Scrap VAR.
We wanted goal line technology to end the farce over giving golas that weren't or goals that should stand. Not whether or not the attacker's pinky toe was a fraction ahead of the defenders left nipple.
Agree, good defending that in August, shite in February
