Re: What Would You Like To Ask UEFA President Michel Platini
Lets keep it clean and simple.
"You state that FFP is to stop clubs spending 'more than they can afford'.
City have been punished for easily affording hundreds of millions in the club and the local infrastructure, clearly creating a booming and sustainable business - we have failed FFP.
If you look at the 3 years up to 2008, City would have passed 'Fair' Play. Yet we were days from insolvency and oblivion.
How do you justify these 2 cases?
Furthermore, despite the rules being geared to protect the high-income, old guard clubs, many of them have severe debt. This clearly puts them in a very vulnerable position if they were to suffer a fall in income. EG if, despite your best efforts, one of them fails to get in the CL for several seasons and cannot service their loans - they will be in financial difficulty. So why do you see the dangerously high debts of United, Barcelona and Real as 'acceptable', to name but 3?"
