I know most folks want to give the highest valuation to the best performing players, but valuation doesn't work that way. The most valuable players are mostly those who have shown potential, are young and most likely of the attacking variety. Clearly our most valuable player should be Silva- Young, Potential and frankly our most talented player. Tevez is a little overated. I added 1 mil so City could make a profit, but really he could go for anything btw 20-30, and likely on the lower end than higher. Guys like, Barr, Givens e.t.c. who are older are generally gonna be in the single range.
Defenders (good ones) cost 15 to 20, if good + young then 25. Our best is kompany at 18.
Balotelli should be our most expensive if not for his petulance. If he hits form and just gets a tad cooler, I can see him at about 40-45. Tevez tops is 30. He probably has 2 more good years in him, if that. And the fact that he is always complaining and agitating for a move lowers his value.
Right now only Silva, Balotelli and Boateng can top their purchase price. Yaya is 27, which means his value will plummet with every year. Every single one of Hughes purchases were clearly overpriced, it was what City needed to do to get up there. We don't expect to do that going forward. So we shouldn't worry too much about the resale value for now.
When Gonzalez, Assulin, and the like make it to the top, their value will exceed their purchases. Besides big clubs seldom sell their purchases for more than they acquire them. No way Real gets 80 mil for Ronaldo or 56 mil for Kaka either
