What's Next ?

I know I’ll be on my own here when I say this but if we did any wrong doing with the charges, a relegation would actually do me and the fanbase some good I think.
Re-light the fire in us. Get that ‘spoiltness’ out of our system that Peps given us.

A year away from CL, title chasing, weird fans from the red clubs being obsessed with us etc…. A re-set as it were.

Then come back fresh after a year away and rise to the top again. You need some bad times to enjoy the good times.
Peps been that good he’s made me forget the pain we had in the 90s.

I know this is bizarre for a football fan to sort of want a relegation but i know what i mean ha.
I hope you are on your own here.
Relegation? And you think all the stars will stay to romp the division, choosing to play at Orient and Norwich over Bayern and Real? And without the stars you are assuming / being hopeful that the bounce back would be instant. And if it isn't?

You do know they don't have the power to relegate us right, they can dock enough points to ensure it of course but Khaldoon has already told us they'll take through every court in the land. It's nothing but a cartel inspired witch hunt anyway.

What, and everything we've done feels worthless?

I get the gist of what you’re saying although I wouldn’t go as far as saying relegation would do us good but I wasn’t gonna go to the fa cup final because of the cost involved but then I thought of being a kid in primary school in the 90’s when it seemed like every other fucker was a red and growing up in a house with 3 older brothers and a dad that were all reds and thinking how spoilt I’ve come by these last 10/15 years of success…that kid in the 90’s would have kicked the shit out of the 41 yr old me ummin and arrin about going to an fa cup final with my 12 year old :-)

Obviously as a club it looks like we're on a total reset after 10 years of dreams

A new manager...new back room staff new players coming in & players going out...new style of play...hopefully the 115 put to bed one way or another etc etc

Obviously exciting times ahead and a lot of trepidation all at the same time

So where do folk see us in 2 or 3 years time?

Obviously it's going to be another rollercoaster ride every single day
The biggest thing is the charges. Get a positive outcome from that and it will make everything much easier.

I’d go as far to say that a positive outcome from the charges is as big as all our trophy success combined in the last 15 years. And it will put a big fat exclamation mark on that success, there will be a huge weight lifted from our shoulders as fans and at the club too, and we can build from there with a fresh feeling.

It will be easier for Maresca to get going and there will be an upbeat feel to everything.

We will miss Pep, that’s for sure. Look at the decline in quality of the likes of Sterling, Sané, Jesus and others after they left Pep to go elsewhere… I could easily see the same happening to the team Pep leaves behind (although he’s left behind a much younger and larger potential squad than Fergie left behind when he left the Rags), and we could have a period of time where our aim could be getting into the CL spots rather than wondering how many trophies we’re going to win in any given season.

However, it will all be so much easier with a positive result with the charges.

These weirdos never go away. Were we in the ninth or tenth level of the pyramid they'd still be yapping, and the Red Arrogant Gits who don't play in Manchester would double or quadruple up on the level of entitlement and arrogance fed by a willing media.

It’s not something we want as a club as it would delegitimise our success over the last 15 years. But that’s the mindset we’d all need to take if we have a negative outcome from the charges.

Juventus went through it. After their enforced relegation after Calciopoli, they reset and within five years they moved to a new stadium and went on to win nine Serie A titles in a row.

Don’t let it beat us down and let us just accept mediocrity again. Get behind the team like we did in the late 90s and early 00s, get some of our old school fans back, sort out the ticketing situation and then go with an aim of reaching the top again.

It a mad way pep leaving might bring the best out of erling, we’ve never played to his strengths under pep, maybe things will change under maresca , hopefully

Why would we need a "total reset"?
I suppose you could say, because trying to chase what Pep did here is unrealistic and could set us on a path of disappointment and negative feelings if we don’t achieve it.

United went through it after Fergie left. Every time they looked like finishing lower than their fans demanded, there was a huge negative wave across that club. A different situation with us as we aren’t against our ownership, but it would still be easy to have a wave of negativity and disappointment if we are too demanding.

I think we need to lower our expectations and get behind Maresca like we did Mancini back in 2009. Total new outlook. Not a demand for title success immediately and not want to throw Maresca away if he can’t make us title challengers, never mind winners, in the first few years.

Pep leaving is a punch tot the stomach , so lets get the charges over with and take our medicine , if there is any , start next season with a clean slate , strengthen the squad with a combative box to box midfielder and give the new manager our full backing. We are very close to being a title winning team , Pep has left a strong squad with a younger profile with loads of potential , roll on August.

It doesn't need to require a "total reset". We have the spine of a good young team - the same team that won two pots this season and ran the league leaders. We'll add to that over the summer.

We definitely don't require a total reset, that's just plain stupid

Haha, sad thing is I’m not even joking.

Also intrigues me to what players woukd stay etc.

Anyway, I’m sure it won’t happen but if it did, I’m telling you, would do everyone of us some good in the long run :-)
I know what you mean.

I’ve got Lincoln City fans (who used to be Rags a decade ago, but lifelong Imps since 2016) convinced they’ll be playing us next season when the 115 drop, due to Pep ‘doing a runner’.

I just reply with so it’ll be another comfortable 4-0 win like last time with Big Erl scoring the hat-trick instead of Dickov?

We’ll be back to win the title again before Stretford do anyway, in ‘Typical City’ style.

Absolutely not. Are you mad?

For so many reasons. Never mind the fact that the championship is a rotter of a league!
