the only reason i watched blue velvet was because a girl i really fancied had it on dvd and it was a cracking excuse to get her into my bedroom to watch it on my telly. i dont remember being very impressed by it, but that could be because i spent the entire film planning my next move (for what its worth i failed)

I loved Blair Witch, though it's really not the same watching it again. The Ring was really good, but haven't seen that in years.
Oh, The Others, another great and eerie ghost film, really enjoyed that.

Purely disturbing I suppose Saw, but I know it's a poor man's Se7en rip-off, made a decade later. . .

Watching Blue Velvet with a girl would only send out very odd messages to her, I'm surprised she didnt run away!

The Exorcist. Had evil seeping out of every minute. Not sure if that was the hype, great production or what, but it WAS disturbing.

Eraser Head!! for the love of god, dont anyone watch this film!

Hard pressed to choose between these two.
Eraserhead was just completely weird with some really disturbing images but you knew it was contrived. The Exorcist, on the other hand was quite frightening and only too believable, being based on a true story.

I agree with both, Eraserhead is genius i think and Exorcist is pure evil.
