What's your evening/late afternoon meal called?

Tea. Dinner is a lunchtime meal. That's why they're were called dinner ladies in school.

Growing up it was

Breakfast
Dinner
Tea

Now I am ‘posh’ and it is

Breakfast
Lunch
Dinner
Exactly same for me. But not because it's posh it's because it's what they call it here and in America where I lived.
Tea in these places is a drink.
I think calling a meal "tea" is a northern English thing.

Dinner to me has also been the main meal of the day and as I have that in the evening, it is breakfast, lunch and dinner.

We called them dinner ladies at our state schools for sure but we’re only proving that it should be called dinner and tea because that’s what we, the great unwashed, called it. Miss MB went to a posh school and I asked her if they called them dinner ladies and she just said we called them by their first names. So perhaps it should be “breakfast, Barbara, and tea”… but then if you didn’t have a dinner lady called Barbara you’d call it something else. It’s a minefield and best left as it is.
