What's your favourite word? Any single word English or foreign?

This is mine:

Schadenfreude - Satisfaction or pleasure felt at someone else's misfortune.

Panjandrum - A self important or pretentious official.

I just like the sound of it!
Beanie, you really need to start a thread along the lines of 'How Many Panjandrums on Bluemoon'.......25 pages at least.

jejune

1. simple; naive; unsophisticated
2. insipid; dull; dry
3. lacking nourishment; insubstantial or barren

Proud to say that I've used that word a few times (in relation to a writer's early work). But its one of those pointless words because nobody knows what it means and you have to explain it and then sound really pretentious.

picked it up in Woody Allen's 'Love and Death' and used it a lot after that when in arguments, and know one had a clue what you had just said
