Whats your mood regarding City right now?

As much as it sticks in my craw, the ex-manager/self proclaimed legend/from Govan would be 10 points clear, if he were managing this squad right now! Hell, if he were still 'King of The Swamp' even they would be 5 points clear FFS!!

A team of quite brilliant individuals at times, we are so far removed from the team we once was.... under the frequently maligned Bobby Manc!

Horrible season after so much expectation of getting OUR title back from Darn Sarf! Roll on July and at least we have another team to vent our frustrations out on in France!!

Surprisingly optimistic, not sure if it's just down to Vinny being back but I just feel based off no form whatsoever that we're gonna go on a decent run and prove the doubters wrong yet again.

Or we could be out of all 4 comps within a few weeks..

I now know what it feels to be an Arsenal fan for the past 10 years, being able to beat the dross in the league but struggling against the top teams and on the fringes of anything important

We need a massive rebuild and thats a huge huge job - even for pep. Pep, a manager with no PL experience.
Im seriously worried for us this season. A Man U fan I know has text me to say 'between us and your lot for 4th CL place then and weve still got to play you'. Annoys me but hes right.
We have been dreadful this season, absolutely shambolic.

I'd also add

Games 10
Won 1
Drawn 3
Lost 6
Points 6/30.

Pathetic.

Although Iam fed up with the effort the team has put in this season I do think we should go all out to give the club our loudest support and laugh at sky and the press. We have been loud and proud when our team was a lot worse so let's have a laugh for the rest of the season and enjoy the ride.

Great post and I couldn't agree more.

We have always been there for City, and now isn't the time to stop getting behind them .

I've spent the past couple of months mainly frustrated, sometimes angry, however I'm now in more of a reflective mood.

I think I'm starting to realise it's almost an end of a mini era with City. The signs have been there for probably over a year now. A culmination of things are all coming to a head at the same time.

1. PELLEGRINI.
I like Pellegrini in how he conducts himself, he is indeed a gentleman. I think he steadied a volatile/unpredictable ship, but I am of the opinion we have gone backwards under him. He won the first 2 trophies that were on offer to him, but nothing since. We've lost our identity somewhat under him. I mean what are we?? Are we a counter attacking team, are we possession based? I struggle to see what we are. It often looks as though we do little or no homework on the opposition and just we just have the ignorance and arrogance that our 11 is better than theirs. Whilst the commentary yesterday was poor, the one thing I did agree with was, when they stated Spurs were a team with a plan, where as we were looking and hoping one of our big players would do something special.
We have been found out, teams no how to play against us and who to nullify. Pellegrini is reminding me more and of Wenger these days, they are both so stubborn and refuse to change or adapt. (Obviously Pellegrini is on another level to Wenger in terms of likeability however).
This is the first time since probably under Pearce, when I have just wanted the season to end and not because of Pep joining us but because I am not enjoying watching us and I fear for how the season might end. I cant believe I am not enjoying watching a team that has Silva and Aguero in it...but I'm not.

2. KEY PLAYERS.
Kompany, Zabaleta, Silva and Toure have become heroes for the majority of fans at this club. Between them they have contributed so much to our recent success. They may divide opinion but they will all go down as club greats, maybe even greater accolades could bestowed upon some of them. But Kompany aside (if he can keep fit) I think we might be seeing a "changing of the guard" in terms of our spine or key men. Pep has some huge decisions to make this summer regarding some of these players.

3. REST OF THE TEAM.
Is it that good? Has recruitment been good enough and have we strengthened in the right areas? I think it's safe to say Hart, Aguero and De-Bruyne are and will remain vital to us for years to come. Sterling is work in progress, but after that, in all honesty I don't see what I would class as top quality players, good yes, above average yes, but not TOP quality.

It just feels to me like we are nearing the end of something and I don't want that to sound too negative as I honestly believe we are about to embark on something new and fresh. City has a whiff of staleness about it currently.

Pretty much spot on Lomas!

The "changing of the guard" is sadly required, to enable us to move onwards and upwards under Pep and indeed we most certainly will IMO.....

This this THIS!!!!!!

Fook the establishment, just fook em all!!!

We are CITY; loyal, Blue & deeply proud!!

This post has to be the most depressing shit I've ever read.
For a city fan to come out with this garbage considering our history is fuckin tragic.
Football is about highs and lows, good and bad decisions, injuries, form, tactics and hundreds of different factors that's why we love it.Sure we seem to get more bad refereeing decisions than some others, but that makes it sweeter when we win.Yeah Pellers sometimes seems to lack in awareness of how to adapt to playing different styles but he's here till the end of the season and we have a reasonable chance of picking up some silverware so why would anybody who claims to be a fan want the season to be over.
Are you the type who unless everything is going perfect you give up,cause I've got news for you pal winners dig in when things are going against them and that's why they win,and we got our biggest winner back in the team yesterday.
Our form is not the best at the moment but this is when we need to dig deep and work through it.Next season with Pep will come soon enough but for fuck sake don't give up on the team when so much is at stake.

I probably do moan too much about City but I like to think its because I am a realist. I just don't buy into all this happy-clapper crap where you're only a "real" fan if you never take your blue-tinted specs off and eulogise over everything Manchester City. This season has been utter turd and no amount of "We are still in 4 competitions in February" crap will change my mind! 47 points from 26 games is bad enough, the standard of our "we are an attacking team" football is even worse, so yeah I am not enjoying watching us at all and I am looking forward to the end of the season and the new era under Pep. I wont apologise for this.

Thanks for your input though.

good post, I don't agree with all of it, the first bit is very salient.

Drawn 3 - lost 6 against top 8 teams so far this season......The spurs game was not just a bad day at the office and we cant put all the blame on the ref.....we have real problems that cant be fixed until the summer..This squad is on the decline and needs fresh legs/fresh ideas.......I agree with many of the comments.....I'm getting alittle concerned about top 4 finish!

It's a weird mood really. Considering how good we've been in recent seasons - consistently in the top 2, excellent at home and rarely beaten by our main title rivals, we've been woeful. To lose to Leicester and Tottenham at home consecutively is a huge embarrassment considering the money at our disposal. Some may turn around and say there are always highs and lows in football, but that's the City supporter who still harps back to the bad times as if we should just be thankful we've at least had some success.

That goes without saying, but we're bigger than that as a football club and as fans we need to have higher expectations than that. Fighting on four fronts is to be expected. Making the CL knockouts is a minimum target. As one of the best sides in England we should do well in the cups. We're 4th in a league where Leicester and Tottenham are first and second. Two sides that shouldn't even be in the top 4. Whilst they might have been good this season, they've not been incredible. We've been so poor that we're 6pts behind the top side having failed to beat any of the sides currently in the top 6. That shows just how weak we've been in terms of game plan and ability on the pitch.

Right now I'm not throwing in the towel. As things stand we're close enough and have enough games left to still win the league. We're also still in 4 competitions. If we win the league cup final that could give us a kick to go on and win the league. On the other hand, the way things are going we could (and considering number of games and therefore weakened side) will lose at Chelsea in the FA Cup and therefore be down to three comps. We could lose to Liverpool realistically in the league cup and be down to 2. We might struggle against Kiev, if not we might get a tough draw and in any case we're unlikely to win the CL with the sides left in it. That leaves the league. We're already probably in a position where we can't lose anymore league games this season and have to win the majority of those left.

coming out of the ground last night and i suprisingly felt more optimistic than after the Leicester game , with Vinny back we looked much better defensively and going forward we created enough chances to win the game against the best defence in the premier league , on any other day Aguero would have had a brace , Yaya 's free kick would have hit the underside of the bar and gone in and the ball wouldnt have bobbled up for David Silva , all ifs and buts and the football gods havent been kind to us this season, what with injuries and some key decisions going against us , but hopefully with players coming back for the run in we can get a run together , 6 points at this stage is nothing , cmon blues lets have a bit of positivity

Walking home after the match I was obviously disappointed even pondering on giving the cup final a miss thinking why waste my money seeing Liverpool had put 6 pass villa , now I've had a season ticket since the mid 70's and reflecting how much money I've wasted only dreaming of cup finals and being only 6 points off the top of the league travelling all over the country wanting to be there for that elusive away win when at the time we couldn't win a prize in a lucky bag ! So this morning I've bought my ticket and booked the coach , I think reflection is better then immediate after match reaction that walk home did me good :)

Disappointed - after the start we had
Frustrated - at the number and severity of injuries
Fed up - with the number of incorrect decisions going against us
Apprehensive - about playing any team at or close the the top 6 as our record against them is frankly pathetic
Resigned - to the fact that unless we do something dramatic, a fight for top 4 is the best we will get for the remainder of the season
Bored - of the turgid crap football we churn out nowadays.
Happy - that Pep is coming
Even happier - that Pellegrini is finally going.
Worried - that Pep might see something in Kolorov.

injuries have left our squad knackered, too many people(fans) throwing the towel in and looking beyond this season, we need to energize the squad and if that means getting a few young lads in then that has to be done, didn't see a lot wrong yesterday the desire was there and with the players coming back from injury hopefully our form will pick up, we need to hang in there.

I preferred it when we were shit. It didn't hurt half as much. I doubt that even the great Pep can do anything with this shower. Pellegrini is too soft. Mancini to hard or so they say. Getting to a point where I just can't be arsed anymore. The frustrating thing is that we have good quality players, but as for the management it's all been said.
