I see Sky Movies have their Christmas channel up and running. And the local Woodies (the Irish equivalent of B&Q) have their christmas stock (trees, lights, decorations etc) up on their shelves. It is november 3rd.

At 00:01 on the 26th December.

For us it's from the 1st December. That's when we put the decorations up and start the build up to Christmas.

Properly

December 25th until 6th Jan

Most people start of December

Though with consumerism as soon as easter ends

Other half is Canadian; so, apparently, it starts after Haloween in our house. I guess it kind of makes a bit more sense over there because that's generally when it starts snowing, but here it's still sunny and mild so it just feels wrong.

Today I had to fight very hard to stop her putting the tree up. She wasn't happy. Am I being unreasonable? I just think that if it goes up now I'll be sick of the sight of it come December 1st (which is when I think it should start, and the earliest).
