When was 'Right Here, Right Now' first used?

I'm doing a piece for the Cutter (<a class="postlink" href="http://daisycutter.comule.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://daisycutter.comule.com/</a>) on what music football teams should come out to. I've chosen 5 teams that all have a place in my head for different reasons.

I've chosen Valencia CF from La Liga because one of my best friends supports them, Stockport County from the Blue Square Premier because their stadium is less than a mile from my house, Aris FC from Super League Greece because they are the best away support I've ever seen, Lech Poznan from The Ekstraklasa because they inspired a celebratin used by the fans of my last choice - Manchester City.

I've chosen 'Right Here, Right Now' for City because of its place in Maine Road's history and the goosebumps it gives me when the opening bars begin echoing around the newly named Etihad Stadium. But I need to know when it was first used so that I can study the history of its use at City even further.

Could anybody help?
 
Don't help you but I always preferred us having Brainbug-Nightmare (Sven 08) gave me goosebumps that one; weird enough I heard at Bolton away last week.

I'm sure it was used in the 99/00 season, after promotion at Wembley because it was played there before the players came out. That's the first time I remember it anyway!

Quality tune, my dad used to have it as his rigntone! :P

Imo i think they should use Avicii - Levels...bit of a Club tune but it really gets me pumped up!

Yes at Maine road for sure. It was when we were starting to get a bit better after being sick for a while.

Exactly what Berger says.

Wembley 99 they played it as City and Gillingham walked out.

We adopted it the season after (99/00)
 
I was only 13, I don't know how I have remembered that though it's probably because that song reminds me of Wembley '99 and then Maine Road!

The hairs on the back of my neck still stand up when I hear it!

Hahaha I couldn't think of a worse song for city to come out to than levels. Don't get me wrong I love this tune as it was our Ibiza anthem this year but not at eastlands mate!
 
Pretty sure they first played it in a pre-season friendly against Liverpool at Maine rd( we won 2-1 iirc) Quality tune !!!!
