When will the panic stop???

A lot of people need to grow some balls and stop moaning like little girls when things could be a lot worse than this.We are in a better position than all the other teams around us with plenty of time to prove that plus we finished top of the uefa cup group,we need a lot of things but consistency has to be right at the top of the queue we can't change owners and managers like we have done.

I started following City right in the middle of the shite which was far worse than what we have now and i wouldn't have it any other way because i can now enjoy what is now only the start of this clubs revival too the top of English football and we need to get behind the players even if they are not at the top of there game at the moment (i.e Vassell ) because it doesn't help neither does it help getting on Hughes back let him build his own squad right through and judge him then.

Might be a bit dramatic but remember the words of Churchill and it's not that bad really is it things will improve.

"If you're going through hell, keep going.."

Negative results breeds negative thoughts.
Our league position out of FA & Carling cups, negative leaks from Management and Players.
So it is fair that the supporters are a bit panicy at present, a few more good signings a good run of results will instill more confidence in both the team and fans.

Exactly.

I think the majority of the Hughes Out camp would be more than happy to be proved wrong (i know for some its about his rag days and they maybe will never change).

But after the 'positivity' that the beginning of the season held and the subsequent take-over, we have been subjected to some of the most shambolic on and off field performances i have ever witnessed as a City fan since 1970.

Results, performances, league position, FA Cup, Carling Cup, Player problems, management decisions etc.

Thats where the positivity has ended up. We all started with the usual hope and positivity but some of us see the current position as a time to worry about the imediate future of the club, some dont. Some are happy to wait for the magical 5-10 year plan, some believe that with the money we have anyone could be manager and get success over that period. Some are happy to see the wins over Pompey Arsenal and Hull as the shape of things to come, others feel that if you put those results in the overall performances of the season then its just not good enough and we are going backwards,

But for most of us in the Hughes Out camp, we would be happy to just see the shoots of something positive happening, at best we have stayed the same under Hughes and as we all know, the last half of last season was something we felt any manager could only improve on this season. But we havent.

So il finish as i started, i will be delighted if Hughes proves me wrong, but im not holding my breath!

I think city are in danger of ending up with loseing a lot of credit as one of the most loyal and easy going sets of supporters that we are respected for.
We are in a transitional period that will take upto 10 years to get to where we want to be.It won`t happen over night.
We now have owners with the finances to sustain our push for as long as it takes unless people piss them off by moaning about them not paying whatever it takes to get us where we have to be.

Will we end up like Chelsea who get rid of a manager who only got runners up in the prem and cl then end up with a worst team under a better manager?
Yes i know some of you will point out that were 2 points off relegation and you would be happy to be in the CL .But that would be your next gripe.
You can either embrace being singled out for special treatment from a very wealthy benifactor or moan about how shit life is for you.
YOU DECIDE!

Those are not the options ARE THEY!

They are you can either enjoy being a city fan and enjoy the ride or you can hate being a city fan and moan and try and make everyone else as miserable about it as you.

if you do the latter whats the point? surely there would be things that you could do with your time and money that would only be moderately sh*t as opposed to the miserable, depressing and embarassing life of being a city fan! and even if you like football if quick easy success is what you want then there is always barcelona, Man United, Inter or Chelsea!

So you're up for giving Hughes 10years to get us where we want to be?

Personally, il see how Jan goes now and maybe Feb, i dont see any point in getting rid now as we are two weeks into a four week transfer window. So as i have said many times, i would love for him to prove me wrong.

But if i dont see anything poistive that i can hang my hat on by end of Feb, then i will def be wanting him gone!

He has done absolutely nothing since he came here, kept us at a stand-still at best.

I will give the right manager all the time he needs if he can at least show me that he has direction for the club and the sh*te position we are in is all part and parcel of that bigger plan. But i dont even think Hughes knows what direction we are heading and he is just hoping that a) he can spend the ADUG £££s and actually get players to come here while he is manager, and b) that those new players pull him out of the sh*te.

But i cant go with your theory. We could be in the Championship and you will still be saying 'its all part of the 5 - 10 year masterplan!

Sorry Harry, not for me mate.

I never mentioned a masterplan.
But the championship is only an option in the minds of the doom and gloom mob

Well put like that youve made it a little more clear for a simplton like moi.

But I think its OTT to pidgeon hole people into you either Love it or Hate it.
I myself love bieng a proud Supporter of MCFC and dont/ didnt expect CL this season but I am concerned regarding our current league position an cup exits. If your not then OK.

Yeh, i tried to ignore it in the 80's and 90's too.
But if things dont improve, it may sound 'doom and gloom', but suddenly reality bites.

I just dont want it to bite too late!

The reality is we are as near to the top 10 as the bottom and it as been a terrible run upto now.
So to finish in the bottom 3 we have to play even worse.
I just don`t understand why people think this is going to happen. To me it really does sound like doom and gloom.

So what are the options?

Well a third option is to still love and support the club and be realistic about our current situation. We are unlikely to get a European spot which I have accepted and we are in a relagation battle which I have also accepted, therefore I have concerns at present and not aspirations. My only aspiration this season is to do well in Europe and play in the PL next season, and have dissapointingly had to lower my expectations.

We've won all our league games by 3 or more goals. We've proven we can play top notch when the mood strikes us.
Yes we play like shit just as often, but I haven't seen the attacking strength we showed in those wins for many seasons.
I don't see anyone in here praising Hughes' tactics when we pulled off those remarkable victories.
Consistently better performances will come, rather than the opposite, I believe, Hughes or not.

What do you base all this I sit safe in the knowledge theory on, probably nothing more than a whim?

I have to totally disagree with your opinion, which is that these supporters are in some way hysterical, I don’t know if you have noticed but there are many issues at the club need addressing like yesterday, this remain calm laid back attitude gives me pictures of the captain of the titanic stood there not appreciating the gravity of the situation, of course everything hopefully will turn out well, but believe me there is just as much chance it wont remember we are City.

Why are we in a better position than all those around us?, that’s right we have more money to spend???, talk about putting all your eggs in one basket, too many blues seem to have done that and just written off performances results etc, and decided January is going to be the answer to all our problems, it is ridiculous there are absolutely no guarantees our wealth will give us an edge on all those around us.

The qualities that are more important are unity, collective togetherness, playing as a team; you know when the going gets tough the tough get going, we have not seen any of that on display, besides the occasional exception we have been piss poor, Nottingham forest when MH turned his back on Elano and Sturridge for me was defining moment ,MH body language suggested he did not know what to do, that was the first time I appreciated the gravity of our situation, the manager did not know what to do, the players did not know where to play.

I am trying to remain optimistic I really am, we are now a third of the way in to the transfer window, I appreciate we can not buy players clubs don’t want to sell, but even this contradicts the spin leaked to us lot about transfer lists and strategies discussed during trips to Dubai weeks ago, for starters professionally run clubs have transfer targets and transfer fees sorted out weeks before January and all that remains is for the player to sign on the dotted line come January 1st,so threadbare is our squad we were all relieved Portsmouth was abandoned, but we still have the same problem going in to the next couple of matches, matches we need to take points from.
