Where do you store your digital photos?

Do you keep all your digital photos in one place? Mine are spread over about 4-5 devices, some on old laptops which I don't use anymore, recent ones on my iPad, iPhone etc.

Basically I don't have one place which holds all my digital photos and videos, and they are a mix of formats, taken with different cameras etc.

I was just thinking that in 20 years when my kids want to see old photos of their mum and dad, they might not be able to. There is something to be said for the traditional photo albums I reckon...

Where do you store all your pics/vids?
 
I use Google's Picasa. Everything from various cameras/phones etc all downloaded onto one PC running Picasa. Then backed up to an external hard drive for safety.

You can upload pics to the web or back them up online etc.

It's also good coz you can view all your pics and videos easily either individually or a slide show and it's a piece of piss to use!
 
If you have a Hotmail account you can take advantage of Sky Drive free 25GB storage. This is where I store my photos. I have a Windows phone and each photo I take is stored on the phone and at the same time as taking it a copy goes straight out on auto to Sky Drive storage (hotmail). I also upload photo taken on my regular camera here so that whatever device I'm on, (laptop, phone, desktop, out of the house etc) as long as I have internet access I get at them.

Plus its free ofc.
 
Don't get me wrong, Picasa sounds great - however technology changes at a rapid rate. Who's to say Google won't go bust in 5 years?

10 years ago I was backing up my dissertation onto a floppy disk - now it's gone forever except for one printed copy.

Do you see what I'm getting at here?

Common sense tells you Google wont go bust in 5 years time

Even if they were im sure they would allow you some time to get your stuff
