That's another job I wouldn't want. The police is the same. A lot of the time you're dealing with the dregs of society at their worse, full of drink and drugs and as a result violent and abusive.
To be fair being a police officer would be exactly that, their contact would be mainly with law breakers and consistent law breakers at that.
Are they expecting to be pulling up the vicar of Dibley every day?

Scrotes don't give a fuck because there are no consquences that they're arsed about or have parents that care.

Unfortunately I have a few times lately. One pompous young bloke was in there accompanied by two police stating he had mental health issues and if they touched him he would sue them. It's the pits in there.

Ha ha I get that that's why I couldn't do it it would drive me mad. I had enough grief dealing with gangs of violent fag runners and gamblers on the bandits in my time working on the ferries, not to mention the shoplifters.

My Mrs told me this morning about horrific situation in Chorley (I think) where kids are routinely being several beaten up - like jumping up and down on heads and kids potentially losing eyes or getting brain damage - and the police being "too busy" to do anything about it.
I know police numbers are down, but I wondered by how much, so I did a bit of Googling. Turns out there were roughly 120,000 police officers in England and Wales in the 1970's and although that number rose in between and has fallen back, there are today about 120,000 officers.
But back in the 70's we saw bobbies on the beat, routinely. Burglaries were followed up on, always. Fingerprints taken etc. Patrol cars visibly patrolling often. Local police stations existed, and were not closed due to "cuts". And they had no technology back then to help them either.
And yet nowadays, the police have all sorts of tech to help them fight crime. And they have the same numbers of police as before. So it made me think, what are they all actually doing? Is there lack of action to combat the sort of criminality described above actually more political by them, sending out a message saying "we need more resources", rather than an actual lack of resources, perhaps? The police say they are overstretched and can't cope. Overstretched on what?
I have seen two news stories this week on top of the usual stuff that has been depressing for weeks and months now. One was the consistent dumping of actual excrement into the sea and rivers and this report on those kids getting battered filmed and ignored by the coppers. Mothers crying for their kids.
I said to the wife last night it's the final straw. Fuck people in this country and fuck those paid to protect us and make peoples lives better. I have finally given up hope its the same fucking crap year in year out and not enough people give a flying fuck.

You could say that about most jobs in fairness.No I don’t think we are-what I’m referring to is those kind of videos increase the likelihood that officers will be identified by the types of people I mention. And even on a more moderate scale police don’t have many rights, at the very least they should be free to go about their job free from annoyance and harassment.

I get coppers being busy. I get underfunding But I would like to know how many other crimes are more important not just in an immediate response but even bothering at all than a young kid having her head stamped on.We are at tipping point and this fuel poverty is going to make it even worse.

Wow, that video clip is quite amazing.
So, the OP question is where have all the police gone? A simple answer - dealing with dickheads like this guy. How many Police came and reasoned with him (and for how long) when really he just needed arresting and locking up for a few hours. Which of course is what he wanted, because kerching - with a decent lawyer - the money would be rolling in.
What a fucked up country we are living in.
Some questions? How is this still on Youtube and available to view? Secondly, what is wrong with that guy that he thinks he can antagonise the police and then tell them what to do, without consequences? What is wrong with the Police that for so long they let him! He made overt sexist comments and sly pseudo-racist remarks too, so they had grounds to take action - or does 'hate crime' only work one way? I bet if one of the many Police had made a comment about his skin colour he'd have loved it. How come he kept telling the police not to shout at him, yet he thought it was Ok to shout at them?
It does link in with a conversation on another thread about migrants crossing the channel. Myself and others have said a pull factor often not mentioned is that the UK does not have an I.D. card system. If we had one it would have helped here too, because right at the start the Police show him their i.d. but he doesn't want to or indeed have to show anything in return, so immediately he has already got the upper hand.
Finally, the guy from Selco chats to him at the end and comments, "....they seemed a bit aggressive!" well try filming a Police station in China or even France or Spain and then picking an argument with their law enforcement people & see how long you last. It's unbelievable.
Youtube should take it down*, because people will see this and think oh I can have my 15 minutes of fame and be trying it at police stations all across the country (I've already seen the similar one in Avon and Somerset). He should have been done for wasting Police time and hate crime.
P.S. I have just looked at it again on Youtube and can't believe that all the comments seem to be pro the film maker and anti the Police! The internet is fucked up! (bluemoon not included of course).
*One more thing, I know people with big followings can make decent money off youtube, but if he is making anything out of this, somethings not right.

As its all on social media, TV and you have actual witnesses one needn't be fucking sherlock Holmes. How much help do they need to arrest someone?

Weren’t arsed at all at finding anyone, wouldn’t come out to try and arrest the guilty parties, despite them still being on my road, just totally useless.
The last time they managed to arrest four people within 24 hours and the shock nearly finished me off.
Up until the last time the police have been the most disinterested, incompetent service, I think I’ve ever seen.
