Where have all the police gone?

That doesnt answer why you didnt want to join....surely,there would have been even more reason if 'they were good'.

Criticising then,not slagging.

Yes,it really is.....fucking backwards in fact.
I never really thought about it, I went into an engineering apprenticeship as a young lad and never left the industry as it was all I knew.

I never made a conscious decision to join the police or not.

Its an odd view don't complain about a job someone does or about an institution unless you have actually done the job.

How long do you have to do the job for?

Can I do some work experience with the dibble or a trial shift on the buses?

I've never been a copper so couldn't possibly comment. I used to drive buses around Manchester. God I got some grief from the general public they're are some right twats about.

I must have left too early though because I accept a fair few bus drivers and managers are complete dicks. It's almost like there is good and bad in every job.

With that amazing revelation I'm off tto bed as I'm up for work and I'm setting off early to beat up a few people while the police are busy.

I’m beginning to think we have a two tier police force. I’ve lived in rough areas and upmarket leafy areas. One thing that is noticeable is that whenever the slightest thing happens in the nicer areas, the police are there quickly and follow up on the crime. In the less affluent areas it was a case of here’s your crime number, crack on.
Shouldn’t be like that and maybe it’s purely subjective but it is what I’ve experienced.

Same here definately. If you're famous too, its a different tier of police effort.

Slightly unrelated (I really do hope!) is that there is wholesale "cheating" going on in the NHS with doctors surgeries.

For example, at my local surgery, there are around 15 GPs. None of them - and I mean that literally - none of them, work more than 3 days per week. You can check it on the publicly viewable roster. It might 3 full days, or maybe 2 full and 2 half days. You get the picture. 3 days total, max. And yet they receive full GPs pay.

When questioned about this, the response is that they do their full 40 hours on the 3 days. This is a lie. If you go past the surgery at 07:00 there are no cars in the staff car park. Ditto 8pm at night. No-one is doing 13 hour days.

I seriously hope this is not a pattern in the police force where officers are basically turning up and doing bugger all, or off on some other training course about how to remove fluff from your naval.
What exactly is full GP pay?

Salaried GPs get paid per session they work. A session is a half day. If they choose to work 10 sessions in a week, they'll get paid for 10 sessions, if they choose to work 1, they'll get paid for 1.

I dont believe you have actually questioned anyone about this, and are confusing your opinion with fact.

Doesn’t cover nobs stood at the gates filming private vehicles though.

as I say I know they do it often to get a reaction but those vehicles once they leave go onto roads and are photographed hundreds of times on each journey

I stopped reading after the first sentence-plenty of officers live in the area they police.

Never known one do it - it was a practise stopped when local Police stations and Police houses went west.......... coppers rightly don't want to end every shift and come home to find their windows put in (again) having arrested a few scroates in the neighbouring streets. Furthermore why would a Policeman and his family live in a shitty shabby danagerous neighbourhood.

You missed a good read that you may have learned from

Of course, but the one outside my nick was posting the vehicles all over Facebook

He checked the car park mate. Conclusive proof. Didn't bother to check the bike shed or consider that the GPs that lived nearby might have walked or got the bus. It isn't like Bristol has a public transport system.

In the queue for a drive through MacDonald's even though numbers have been slashed by the posh fascists since 2010.

I don't think its odd at all,i think its very fair.

I personally wouldn't criticise someone for doing a job i wasn't prepared to do myself.......like the saying goes....never judge a man until you have walked a mile in their shoes.

If you believe you can do better, then get your application in.

My question was a genuine one.....what is preventing people from doing exactly that?

Yeah I'm not daft enough to fall for that mate, may work on others though so good luck with it.

The amount of red tape the police have to deal with now is ridiculous

They spend half their time in court having to explain why they suspected someone for a crime or pulled someone over

They are not protected and criminals get away with all sorts because the system is so soft

These criminals say the police scared them that's why they ran away or drove off - nevermind if they are carrying drugs and knives it's a absolute joke

They need more support/reforms from the judicial system to be more efficient
