Where have you ever stood/sat in the away end?

Reading the thread about trouble on Wembley Way, somebody mentioned about visiting Leeds in the 70's and how bad that used to be. How very true! My first ever visit there was in 1977 when for some reason my dad and his mates sat in there end and it truely was an experience. The trouble outside after the game was simply madness and utter mayhem everywhere and I always remember two blues getting a lift home in our van who had been badly beaten. We sat in the car park as the FA Cup draw was made and we never got the luck of the draw as we were handed an away tie at guess where - Bastard Leeds Utd.

Other away grounds I've stood in the home end to see City are Nottingham Forest in the 80's, Bolton at Burnden Park (another dodgy day) Old Trafford twice, once in the K stand with loads of other City around us the night Keith Curle equalised from a penalty when we were down to ten men. But the first time I had stood at Old Trafford was in the late 70's. I had gone with a rag mate when we was about 15 and stood on the original Stretford End and it was a fucking nightmare when they scored and everyone fell forwards and then backwards about 20ft in a matter of seconds whilst holding on for grim death to the person in front or at the side. Remember getting the match bus there and back full of rags and hated every second thinking that everyone knew I was a Blue and all eyes were on me. Also sat in the Anfield Road end when we beat Liverpool with a last gasp Anelka goal and jumped up without thinking. A few shouts from the back and I sat down rather quickly and to be fair to the scousers around me they were ok.

Where else has anyone stood to see City in an away end?

Anfield,
we got beat 5-1 and Tommy Caton scored our goal.
The mickies went mental when Tommy celebrated our concilation goal.
I was pissing myself laughing at him.

Not done it too many times. The last time was the Reebok when Mark Kennedy scored the winner a 1-0. They only gave us the bottom tier of the stand and that was packed.
When he scored me and my two mates jumped up and heard a load of running coming from behind us. Expecting a crack we all tensed up only to see a load of blues running around cheering.
There must have been more of us than them in that stand. To this day I can't understand why they only gave us the bottom tier and kept the tier empty.

In the 70s before strict segregation nearly every away match involved mixing with opposition fans, at some grounds there'd be a rough dividing line of a few coppers if you were lucky. At grounds like Chelsea, WHam, Spurs, Brum you just took your chance and largely kept your gob shut unless there were large numbers of blues around, which wasn't always the case at those places.

leeds and luton away in 90/91 season, luton had banned away fans and leeds only gave 800 to away fans, both on my own
leeds was really bad and i had to stfu throughout the whole game, i had driven to leeds a couple of weeks before for a full members cup game and queued for a ticket in the home end
i chose the most expensive ticket thinking i'd be with the big nobs and safe, then the girl next to me sat down, she had leeds tattooed across her head wtf? i sat there pretending i couldn't speak then there was a kick off in the kop and everyone around me jumped up saying "it's a manc, kill the bastard, kill him" oops

york away in 98, i'm sure there were more around then because my daughter pleaded with me to stop getting tickets in 'their' end
everton away mid 80s with a mate
liverpool away in 73 with my dad
sheffield utd away in 73 with both parents
bolton away in 2004 when fowler got a hat-trick

forgot to add the rags circa 77, sure we drew 2-2 after being 2-0 down and being threatened when i jumped on equalising
also forgot i was in their main stand when denis sent them down, happy days

Whilst writing this thread I went on youtube and looked the Leeds v City FA Cup game from 77/78 where there was crowd trouble on the pitch and just watch Gordon Mcqueen throw a cracking punch at his own keepr David Harvey on 57 seconds. Bang on the chin and Harvey just stands there as if to say "is that your best shot". They really dont make footballers like this anymore and a fucking great City team to watch.

They were building the hotel at that end and some of the work impacted the top tier so it was effectively a construction site.

Liverpool (many times, with a few scuffles)
Everton (many times, including when Robbie Fowler smacked his head running in front of us in the Lower Bullens)
Leeds
Tranmere
Chester
