fuckin gateway then

Theres some good spots in the city to watch the games. Union Jacks is a good one, otherwise one of the pig and whistle's. Do you get into town much?

nah too old mate :-)

Ever go to the Roar games? I have twice seen a city kit at Roar games, one time on my way out to the train and I said a quick hello and 2nd time was sat in front of one and we chatted all game. I also had a honk and wavet on the road one day when I was stuck in traffic and the car in front had the same city bumper sticker and air freshner as me. We both had a good laugh before going different ways. So by my count there has to be at least 10 of us knocking about somewhere around here.

Anyway if you don't fancy town, do you go anywhere to watch the games?

Actually the heat hasn't been as rediculous the last few summers. about 4 years ago it was terrible though, worst heat wave I've ever seen. Maybe the climate change has chilled it out a bit since then, if that is even possible.

sydney for me. spent 3 years there.. i read a previous post someone said its like london, nothing like london. its major city in oz but very laid back. more chilled than manchester. oz is great but too backwards for me.

Been to Sydney and Brisbane and liked 'em both. Noosa is a nice little town with a great beach and wildlife park. If you wanna get away from it all go to Town of 1770. The campsite there has the best restaurant i've ever been to and they give you free tins of 'Deet'

Me fave though has got to be Botany bay. Fantastic beach, great nightlife and top fish and chips.

New Years Day 2005 I think it was got up to 50 in the west of Sydney... ridiculous.

Ok since moving here I have lived in Wollongong, Bundaberg and now Brisbane. Wollongong is just South of Sydney by about an hr and is not too bad. Has some nice areas and combines positives of both a city and country towns, depending on where you are.
.

I can vouch for Wollongong - I live there! Sure the steelworks is an eyesore but look beyond that and it's a great place to live. An hour from Sydney, and less than an hour to some fabulous uncrowded beaches, national parks etc.

A handful of blues down here, and the local team, Woll Wolves are doing quite well at the moment.

I've been to all the state capitals and I'd have to say that Perth is the most appealing. Not as cheap as it once was mind you.....

Whatever you do, stay away from Sydney's western suburbs..........awful place to live (I speak from experience!).

We'd have a heatwave over here if it got to 50degrees fahrenheit in January!

And, as much as it pains me to say, I have to agree.

Gold Coast is the place to be, it's got everything. Thinking of moving there myself.
The 'Gongs not too bad though.

I used to live at oak flats mate, are you far from there?
Not too far mate, I used to live in Figtree (hence the first part of my username) now live in Mt St Thomas (Close to Wollongong city centre)
