Not traditionally described as 'beautiful' but the ferry into Sydney at dusk shows the harbour in all its glory.Cape Town, and, like @stonerblue, Sydney a close second.

Mirissa point break, Sri Lanka....absolute clear as glass water, turtles - beautiful. (Great food as well)

The different tinted whites of the snow seen with the naked eye didn't come out for me on camera. Your pic has the blues. But the memories remain.
Fantastic that Shackleton and his men climbed those mountains without climbing gear - after a little pleasure trip on a rowing boat over hundreds of miles of open sea following a very long tab from the South Pole. Somehow l can't see any of those guys screaming with pain after contact in a penalty box.
Fully agree...i like it so much ive considered moving over there permanently.Love the South point of Sri Lanka, the beaches around Tangalle are some of the best I've visited.
Like you say, the food is fantastic. I have to say Sri Lanka is probably my favourite holiday destination, I can't wait to go back there again.
We flew over and the views from the drop ramp were fantastic. We just didn't get the colours in when snapping through the windows although they were visible to us.Stunning place. Seeing the old whaling station and the boats stranded.
Shackleton's grave. Seeing what he and his men went through is utterly unimageable.
Their journey to Elephant Island. All incomprehensible.
I am glad the weather was just atrocious when I was there. It made it that bit more extraordinary.
Thought that was NewcastleThe harbour in Sydney is stunning. So many great sights in Australia.
