Where should i live?

Having only ever lived in rusholme, withington and burnage i don't know anything about the rest of manchester and beyond. I want to move house, possibly to buy, can anyone recommend a nice area? I work in the city centre (manc) so needs good access in and out. I have a young daughter so nowhere too ravey. Other than that i'm open to all suggestions.

Any ideas?

Failsworth has nice bits, reasonable prices and a short hop (£10 taxi) to town. 10 mins to CoMS as well.
