Development is never linear and experience counts for a lot, but certainly all the noises are that the current crop, particularly U18s, have potentially the highest ceiling yet

I've been watching our youth teams for 25 years in totally not a nonce way, and this is the best crop I've ever seen. This will produce 5+ players capped internationally and 1 and perhaps 2 with 50+ caps.

Happy to be proven wrong in the future, but I don’t think the current U18s are anywhere near as good as the crop that had Delap, Rogers, Palmer, McAtee, Bobb, Lavia, Egan-Riley, Charles, Tommy Doyle and Harwood-Bellis in it.

I strongly disagree. I think our 5th best player is the 3rd best player in that list. Which isn't as convincing now I've typed it, but I hope you know what I mean. Mfuni is better than 5 of them put together.

Let’s hope they can all make the step up to senior football (whether it be at City or elsewhere). I’ve seen plenty of players who look great at U18 level and it hasn’t happened so far at senior level - Borges, Mebude, Mbete, Fiorini, Breckin, Burns, Slicker, Hamilton etc.
