A tale of four league tables
Sven's league position this time three years ago;
Remove Sven, add Mark Hughes, spend £80,000,000 and year later you have;
Retain Mark Hughes, spend £50,000,000 in January and £120,000,000 in the summer and the following year you have;
Remove Mark Hughes, add Mancini, spend £8,000,000 in January and £115,000,000 in the summer and a year later (present league table) you have;
With Fulham currently 17th, and only goal difference separating them from the relegation zone, I think it's fair to conclude that Hughes was an utterly woeful appointment.
A hopeless excuse of a manager who created a bitter division among the fans, and did nothing but hamper our development as a side and as a club.
I'm convinced that had Mancini been appointed in the summer of 2009 the least we'd have accomplished would have been to finish in the top four.
Anyway, that's enough on Hughes and the past. A toast, to Mancini, and a promising future.
