Where would this Ajax team finish in the Premier League?

They have been immense so far in the CL, knocking out Real and Juventus.

I'd definitely put them above Manure and Arsenal. What about Chelsea and Spurs? Top 4?

Somewhere between 3rd and 7th. They've only just returned to the top of their domestic league, having trailed PSV for part of the season. Any team in our league would at some point be ground down by the lower teams or have an off day. Not sure on their squad strength either.

They've been great in the knockout stages of the champions league but struggled in some group games. Clearly growing as a team, and Barca don't pay 60m for bang average players, but can't just judge them off a couple of performances in a knock out competition.

the dutch league is smaller, i dont think it would be so easy for them. some teams play well in CL because their domestic leagues are so easy, they can raise their game. they d take the scum off their perch of 6th place imo.

lol.

They would be lucky to finish top 7, the dutch league is a joke and having to play 38 competitive games a year would crush them. As well as all their players being picked off them.

To be fair, if they were in the Premier League, they'd probably find it easier to hold on to their players.

But it's a cup competition. We've been knocked out two seasons in a row by teams that were demonstrably worse than us in the league, so you can't judge league performance on how far a team gets in the cup. Having said that, it's not like Ajax have been scraping dodgy wins against superior opponents. From what I've seen (admittedly just the highlights), they've been outplaying these top teams.

Europa league... they dont have the personnel to emulate it over a 38 game premier league season with 6 other top teams to compete against. It wasnt long ago they conceded 10 in 2 games vs Heerenveen and Feyenoord.

Not long ago it was United-Ajax in EL final.

At United they might ask WTF happened since then that Ajax wih some no name kids come and dominate the shit out of Real then Juve and maybe Spurs too to get to CL final while United has no idea what the fuck are they doing.

Lost to Heracles too relatively recently (not even last year).

They've played some great football in the CL knockout stages, but they have had some poor results in their own league, a pretty poor league at that.

Imo 3rd, maybe 4th
They've gone through against some of the hardest teams in the competition, but I don't think they would have enough consistency to match Liverpool or City

That's the thing. On their day they can beat anyone but I don't think they have a hope in hell of finishing top 2.

They are around Spurs level IMO. Roughly the same amount of world class/top level players as them, but Spurs have a stronger squad.

They'd have a hard time against those shithouse sides that park the bus and kick you for 90 minutes.
