Where's Everyone Going For Their Holidays

Does this mean that online check in the day before departure is ok but check in for the return must be done as soon as you get there and not a day or 2 before leaving?
I'm flying with them next week, booked in Feb, was aware of the impending 2 day check in window, didn't seem to pose a problem other than it means being a little more organised. The seat allocation has always been the card they held back but it's no surprise they are playing it now, had to happen some time during the rinse cycle.
It's rare in the past that I've prebooked seats and we've always got lucky, Michael's lot have been bombarding me with encouragement to take up seats but so far I've resisted, she's not bothered so I'm not.

As for the check in return flight, still haven't deciphered that part of the instructions yet but I think it will be a QR code on the phone routine.

If you don't pre-book a seat, then your online check in window is now gonna be 48 hours, so if you go away for a week you'll be checking in online towards the end of your holiday for your return leg.

If you buy a seat then you get a 60 day check in window so can print off all your boarding passes before you leave. I tend to use the app now anyway but I know many people like to have a physical boarding pass.

Tip for people; if you're not buying a seat but prefer to avoid the middle seat, then check in later rather than earlier. The middle seats tend to be allocated first (sadly I forgot to follow my own advice and I'm stuck with a middle seat for my flight to Naples on Tuesday. Of the 2 middle seats left, I was 'randomly' allocated one of them)

For clarity Blue you cannot check in until two days before you leave and when you are on your jollies no check in until two days before your fly back date and if you forget Michael will have you for £55 at the aeropuerto.

I used them a lot in the past, particularly for Euro aways and the odd mini-break, but after the way they treated their customers last year I wouldn’t touch them with a barge pole. I’d rather pay more and know I’ll get there.
Exactly.....That’s the way I see it now, they really dropped the ball and no matter how cheap they go I’ll never use them, reliability is the main thing when providing a service and Ryan Air have shown their service to be anything but

He is about to use a new stick to poke and provoke his passenger base with and it comes into play this Wednesday. If you decline to pay extra to secure your seat you will now only get a two day window to check in for both flights. If you miss the window then it's £55 you will have to pay.All new bookings and existing reservations are affected. The irritation in this instance is they are affecting flights that have already been paid for which does not sit right. You have to factor in all the extras before hitting the buy button and they would have to be cheap for us to use them.I am not promoting TUI here as they just had us over for our cash back off Quidco and it is still irking me as I followed all protocols to the letter. However putting that nuance to one side they have some cracking deals for flight only on their deals section and a return bag is only £35 and also they do not purposely split you up.Some of the last minute flights are on their brilliant Dreamliner too.
I always pay the few quid for the seat booking - people are real tightarses if they don't - we're flying to Reus and back during bang centre of kids holidays in August for a spit over a hundered quid each, all in with ryanair. New York in October will be a different kettle of fish though

Service first, cost second
It’s no point being the cheapest if you don’t actually get ther
