Managed to get the first week of November off work. Is there anywhere in Europe that is still hot around that time that I could get too fairly cheaply?

go to northern africa... like tunise or egypt

The Gambia is hot.

I'm loathe to recommend the place owing to problems getting back (long story but shouldn't affect you) but google Gambia Experience as they have cheap holidays (we paid £300 each for flights, accomodation and breakfast at Kombo Beach).

If you decide to go for it just let me know and I'll give you a brief run down of a couple of good places to go for cheap eats and decent bars.

Rhodes has the warmest November weather in Europe but most places have shut down. (Not classing the Canary Islands as Europe) Turkey is also warm.
The Algarve is pleasant also, and there's a lot more open at this time of year. Gets chilly at night though.
