Which City game has annoyed you the most?

The 1981 FA Cup final. Tommy Hutchinson own goal.

More recently the 2021 CL final, and the Spuds travesty CL 2019, but that was a VAR decision against us, as is generally the way...

And most weeks something annoys me - usually reffing decisions against us, or the 500k sideways passes we make!!
1981 hurts the most for me

Most upset was possibly after the Maine Rd derby in 93. We were winning 2-0 (Quinn), and they came back and beat us 3-2. We’d battered them and threw it away. Great atmosphere. Pandemonium on the Kippax when Quinn’s 2nd went in. Ended up about 20 yards away from where I was initially stood before the goal went in. Despair at the end.
Went 2-1 after mistake by Vonk who let Cantona in, then White had a great chance for 3-1. I still can't understand the mentality of some of those players. The atmosphere was far better than nowadays for a Derby.

2021 Champions League final

Not only would it have been our first CL win, with Agüero getting a winners’ medal… but it would have also been a treble as we’d won the PL and EFL Cup.

We finished 19 points ahead of Chelsea in the league and I didn’t even rate their team at all. They were a fairly average football team.

The team selection, pretty much every player completely bottled it, we created next to nothing in 90 minutes, Agüero didn’t get proper minutes when we needed a goal… I fell out with City for a while after that, only actually felt better about it when we came back against Villa on the final day of the following season.
It was Pep that annoyed me more, the biggest stain on his time with us.
The Chelsea game with the non sending off annoyed me more.

One that springs to mind,
When we could of won the league in record time v the rags, 2 nil up at half time and sterling had missed a few good chances too.
All for them to come back and beat us at home 2-3 .
Grrrrrrrr
I still put that result down to pressure from GMP.

1-8 v borough 2008
0-4 v Coventry 1993, mick quinn hattrick
0-5 united 1994, Simon fuckin Tracey
0-4 spurs, spurs home last season
0-1 soton, last game at maine Rd
2-4 spurs fa cup 1993, wtf happened?
Playing Stockport 6 times in 3 seasons and winning once.

I could go on and on....

That game with the disallowed goal for Sterling in the CL....
This game instantly springs to mind first for me.... There are so many though.

There was a Middlesborough one (i think) but we had about a million shots, they had none and we lost 1-0 to an own goal. Was at the Etihad.

The Old Trafford 4-3 game where Owen scored their winner a full day after the game was supposed to finish.

All of the above and plenty more!!!

The Coppell fiasco !!!

Phil Neal in charge away at Portsmouth, I should have brought my boots ??!!

Lincoln away!!?? I drove 3 Scottish blokes from work from Nottingham to that game, didn’t get a drink before or after the game, didn’t say much on the trip back either!!

First 2 or 3 x ✖️ I saw City in the Flesh at the Goldstone Ground, Brighton lost in the 1980’s and usually rained on, on a terrace with no roof and no shelter !!!

Those were the days :0)

Carefree times, when winning was to be celebrated!! :0)

Most annoying things nowadays, So Called Football pundits, The Media , anything Red and The Entitled !!!

Other than that next game for me to get annoyed at in the flesh, Swansea City away & no trains back to England after the game!!!??? :0(

Might sound strange but the most annoyed I've been during a game was a certain match v QPR when it looked like we were throwing the title away.
Other than that it's the usual suspects: Spurs 81, Luton, Real Mardarse a couple of times, any derby we don't win, CL final 2021, Bury, Halifax and others in the domestic cups, and that pathetic performance against Wigan at Wembley even though we created the better chances.
At a 5-0 defeat at Chelsea when I got a parking ticket and my car broke down on the way home.

I could write a book…

Notts County away in the cup (Gary bloody Lund)

Blackburn away in the cup under Pearce

that 4-1 away at Wigan…

That first game of the season away at Villa under Hughes, and not just for the orange kit

Charlton away first game of the season under Royle

Take your pick from the 1995/96 season

And that’s all before I get to Bury and Stockport

Fuck me, where do you start?

Here are a few, though there are a lot more.

QPR and Jamie Pollock.

Notts County a couple of times.

Luton.

Stoke 5-2.

Wigan and Palace at Wembley.

Scoring four in the FMC final and still not winning v Chelsea.

The cl final in Porto.

City fans getting on Richard Edghill’s back (v Coventry…?)

shatwell allowing that offside goal by the rat.

Alf grey.

It is hard to choose just the one.
Sadly I was at too many of those friggin games:(

This and the CL QF against the spuds, with one of the platelets on Sergio’s toe being offside for us to win it at the death .. After being shafted for must of the game by the officials ..

Any city games being reffed by Stuart attwell,I get annoyed before the game because I know this clown will do something to piss me off, he's got a uncanny habit of decisions not seen on a football pitch before.
Incompetent or bent you can decide.

He is yet to make a howler that has benefitted us so I know which side my hammer falls down on.

0-3 Champions League defeat at Anfield is one game I often think about a lot. Also a 1-3 game at Anfield where I always thought Salah looked and still haven't seen a replay that proves me wrong.
