Bit of a hypothetical, even juvenile, question but it's been a slow news day and some miserable sod locked all the player threads.
Was chatting with a mate at the weekend, and we were arguing what would be worse: losing the semi-final against Everton, or the final against Liverpool.
He thought losing the semi would be worse, as reaching the final and finishing as runners-up would still be an achievement of sorts.
For me, losing the final against them would be more unpalatable. The thought of 45,000 gloating scousers at Wembley, and the subsequent media love-in, would be unbearable.
Obviously I've no love for Everton and losing to them on Wednesday would hurt, but at least you could get home quickly and forget about it. Traipsing back from Wembley after a defeat isn't a pleasant experience, if Wigan in 2013 is anything to go by.
