Did anyone else hear it. I was in family and could hear it and some said they could hear in CB.

Just rewatched some of the match and sagna picks up the ball which results in a freekick and he tells the ref he heard a whistle.

Whether someone had a whistle in the crowd or it was zidane or another Madrid player I don't know.

The Sagna situation was just down to him not realising that when a ref waves his hands it means 'play on' and not 'pick the ball up'

3 times last night our players stopped playing when the referee hadn't blown. I think it was Clichy twice and Sagna once. I've never known anything like it and it could easily have cost us a goal or the tie. Fairly major news if some clown had a whistle.

One of the Clichy ones was him not realising the ball was still in play. He was asking for a throw when the ball was 5 yards away from him! Haha!

I was near Sagna when he picked up the ball, I heard the whistle too and was just as perplexed as he was. Don't know where it came from though.

Think Sagna thought one of our players had obviously fouled one of their players, clambering all over him, hence he picked up the ball; the foul was so obvious. What he didn't realise was that the referee's view had been obstructed and that he hadn't seen the foul so had never whistled.

I heard it, but Sagna was the only player who appeared to react to it

Oh well, no harm done

it was the real Madrid player Ramos he does all the time and its a setup to keep the defence in shape

There was definitely a whistle when Sagna picked the ball up, and it definitely wasn't the referee. I'm surprised no other players heard it. If Madrid players heard it also, they should have done the honourable thing and kicked the ball back to Joe, but at least nothing came from the free kick.

I saw and heard Ramos with his whistling, but this wasn't what made Sagna stop and pick up the ball. Ramos's whistle doesn't sound anything like a referee's whistle.
