While accepting that these individuals have the right to assembly and free speech I find their chioce of date: the anniversary of Operation Charriot, the raid on St Nazaire Raid when 168 British and French servicemen lost their lives fighting against the Nazi infestation in Europe; ignorant and showing a omplete lack of respect. A total of 89 gallantry awards were made for acions during the raid, including 5 Victoria crosses. I expect these individuals take time out from their parade, nationalist disco or buffet to hold two minutes silence for the fallen or the organisers to be publically shamed.

To recognise their achievement, 89 decorations were awarded for the raid. This total includes the five Victoria Crosses awarded to Lieutenant Commander Beattie, Lieutenant Colonel Newman and Commander Ryder, and posthumous awards to Sergeant Durrant and Able Seaman Savage. Other decorations awarded were four Distinguished Service Orders, four Conspicuous Gallantry Medals, five Distinguished Conduct Medals, 17 Distinguished Service Crosses, 11 Military Crosses, 24 Distinguished Service Medals and 15 Military Medals. Four men were awarded the Croix de guerre by France, and another 51 were mentioned in dispatches.
