Who’s gone in the summer?

hope there are no takers. we need him badly, also I see no way we would replace him properly. and we would be charged 90m for similar defender not 60m.
We need him if he wants to be here and fight but more than likely he will sulk like fuck

I guess playing Ake instead of Laporte was a big sign. 60 mill though ? thats a fucking bargain for any top club. Its very disappointing, we seem to be all over the shop with our transfer policy. We'll be weaker if we sell laporte, keep the likes of Sterling and Mendy and end up with no striker.
Maybe but let’s see what the squad looks like when the window closes.

Imo it will be 1 in, 1 out.

When pep is asked how we funded Kane for £130-150.He can quote the sales of either Bernie or Laporte. Public perception is very important if we are to change the narrative.

But at the very core, the boss clearly states that unhappy players can leave if a reasonable fee is obtained. £60m is reasonable even if it is on the low side.

Disgusting, 60 Mill is ridiculous. If slabhead is worth 80 then Laporte is easily 90M+. Eric is world class and I'm gutted he might be leaving especially if it's just some cash to get "crock" Kane.
Hyperbole and Bluemoon: peas. Pod.

I don’t think he is as good as we made out at first. 60m seems ok.
When Ben White goes for 50 and slabhead for 80M? Behave, Eric is a rolls royce and oozes class. It's only an inform Stones that's keeping him out of the team.

Not saying it’s right, but there is clearly an “English premium” when it comes to transfers.

Ben white and maguire both younger than him when sold. He is 28 next and sell on value has to be factored in. He has made some key mistakes for us and I genuinely think not quite as good as pre injury. Plus he doesn’t want to be here.

I do have a problem with selling him, if it means leaving us with Ake as our third centre back. I just don’t have faith in Ake rotating with Ruben and Stonesy. In my opinion the gap in quality is too great.
In addition I think it’d be very risky to go into the season with only three recognised centre halves.

Fair points, still think he's worth more than 60 though.

If we shifted Laporte then I reckon we’d strengthen at defensive midfield, and then use Dinho & Rodri as back ups for the centre of defence. Then strengthen with a new recruit in defence when we’ve moved Ake on in another window, assuming he doesn’t get it together.

Yeah, that’s possible although time is running out. Personally I’d like to see us spend the money on Kounde if Laporte were to leave. Still think he’ll stay myself, but if he does go it seems more likely that the money would fund an increased Kane bid.
