Who’s your favourite player to play for City and why?

Different eras, different favourites.

Colin Bell

Ali Bernarbia

Yaya Toure
That is what has been holding me back. Different eras, different favourites!!

50s Bobby Johnstone
60s Bert Trautmann/Roy Paul
70s Tony Book/Colin Bell/Mike Doyle

Then I come to Richard Dunne, Vincent Kompany and John Stones.

My very overall enduring favourite though is the Dunnie Monster. Richard Dunne. Own goals or no own goals my utter favourite.

Keith curle, think he would be awesome as the modern day centre half, fast, strong and a bit of a nasty streak.
Modern day Sergio and ferna

Players I have loved because playing for City clearly meant something to them:

Rosler
Morrison
Dickov
SWP
Zaba
Kompany
Bernardo.
As good a reason as any.
Have to add Bert (him especially) on those grounds though.

Carlos Tevez. When he showed up, he showed up. Worked is arse off on the pitch, tracked back, scored goals and seemed to try and exert his will constantly on the other team. Tough individual that had the good sense to goad Joey Barton enough to get him sent off.

Despite the unpleasantness before he left, I'm of the understanding he is a very nice man.

Zaba. A real gent. Was always taken with him on tunnel cam shaking the hand of and exchanging pleasantries with all the staff before a game, rather than just walking past unsmiling with headphones on. And a great player and true warrior.

Many years ago I had a soft spot for Asa Hartford. Can't really remember why. And Big Joe.

Kinkladze. The joy and expectation of seeing him play. He had weaknesses but is still the most skillful player I've ever seen at city.

Benarbia. First time in living memory I saw us with a player who was so good. He changed us. A shining light at the time. Seen better players since but at that time he brought a lot of joy.
