QPR didn't clear out enough players after their disasterous season in the Premiership in 2011/12.
There are some decent players at the club. Green, Caulker, Sandro and Austin is a good spine to the team. Add in the likes of Barton, Fer and Phillips and there's the makings of a decent side there.
Too many average players there on huge money. The likes of Ferdinand, Taarabt, SWP, Zamora and Kranjcar aren't worth the big money they're on.
Lots of players out of contract this summer, £50 million FFP fine and Austin/Caulker set to be sold. It's going to be an enormous turnover of players this summer, which they probably need actually, but I think QPR will be in League One within 3 seasons.
