Laporte seems nailed on. I'll be gutted, in my eyes he's the best left sided defender in the league. I know he has been out of the side this season but next season it's a blank slate. find form early on and stay fit and you're back in as a regular. Stones has been in and out throughout his time, Dias found himself out this season ake didn't get a sniff for 18 months they all have periods sitting out. If his minds made up though there's little we can do.
So long as we refuse to sell him to a league rival and get his true value which should be in the maguire range and get an adequate replacement it shouldn't hurt us much.
I don't see how we allow gundo to go, if he wants to stay but just wants a 2 year deal, give it him ffs, he's still pivotal to the side and even if he slows right down next year a final year as a bit part player isn't going to be harmful we would be mental to let him go if he wants to stay.
Bernardo is a tough one, I'd want to keep him at all costs and get him on a new contract but if he's still looking to go, with 2 years left on his contract this year is when he's at his most valuable. Add to that his missus is pregnant and she'll likely want to go elsewhere even more, this year might be the year we lose him. This will be a devastating blow, he's unbelievably well loved by everybody involved with the club and every single big game the man delivers. Cannot see how we replace him and we will be significantly weaker without him.
Gomez and palmer might be looking at loans, they're a bit off playing even semi-regularly and are at stages where they need more football but there agsin our swuad is very small and we cant afford to lighten it much more. Perrone might be similar, I suspect pep will look at him properly pre season and determine his level.
cancelo will depend on his attitude. If pep is done with him and theres no return, i hope we hold out for a permanent deal. no more loan with an option to buy to teams that are never going to stump up money for him.
Elsewhere steffen will surely be out the door. Expect a few of the promising youngsters we have out on loan to be sold with buybacks for as many of them as possible. THB and Doyle likely to be sold, McAtee I can see another loan.
We had 6 new signings this season, we had a big turnover compared to usual, I expect a quieter one this year. 2/3 first team changes and a couple of changes around the outskirts of the squad to keep it fresh, young and hungry.
