Who created our current crest?

I hate the current crest, I hope they bring back the old one for next season.

The ship represents Manchester Ship Canal.
The three stripes represent the three rivers that go through Manchester city centre, the Irwell, Irk and Medlock
what do the 3 stars stand 4

If you look at page one of this thread, I've actually written quite a lot about the crest, it's origin and also ABOUT THE THREE STARS. Just read it.

The stars were supposed to give a continental feel to the badge. I think the whole thing is terrible but we have a thread on this twice a month so I won't mention how rubbish it is!
