Pretty well everyone from the Sheikh downwards. Even consummate professionals like Silva and Zabaleta were complaining bitterly about him. But it's completely wrong to say player power forced him out. It may have played a part but it was his behaviour towards the people above him that got him the chop.

Pretty much agree with that

So would I if I fell for that bollox!
Your head is so far up your own arse you must be able to see daylight.

I loved Mancini and didn't agree with his sacking. Those that said his final season was a poor one I also don't agree with. Second in the League and getting to the FA Cup Final is not deemed failure in my book (anyone else would have been a legend had they done this).

However we have seriously moved on. He's not coming back and we still have big things to compete for this season. I wish others could move on as well as dragging up the past isn't doing anyone any good.

Depends whether you look at the season on paper, or if you actually bothered watching it. We were utter dogshite in the league, barely registering a proper performance all year, while we absolutely shit the bed in the champions league, putting in one of the worst group stage attempts of all time, then the FA cup final performance pretty much summed it all up. The rest of the leagues awfulness allowed us to come second pretty comfortably, but in a more competitive year we could have been in serious trouble.

He fucked up a winning team, inexpilacbly switching to 3 at the back and then he never managed to recover, apparently falling out with everyone in the proccess. We were going absolutely nowhere good, either he had to go, or most of the team did. It doesn't take away from what he did in the previous years, but that last year was just an absolute disaster.

No I'm not looking at the season on paper as I saw near enough every game. I agree we didn't build on the title of 2012 but I don't just blame Mancini for that but that's not really what I'm getting at.

We have moved on and I wish others could do the same.

Bob wanted to manage. The barca boys wanted a nodding dog. There lay the problem.

Spot on. He wouldn't be dictated to on footballing matters by people he considered of inferior ability and experience to himself.

The Cheeky boys insisted on a high defensive line. Check out our defensive record and the form of Kompany, Zabba and Hart before and after Mancini left to judge whether that was the right call.

Also regarding player signings, check out the quality of our acquisitions before 2012 and after, when we adopted the DoF model. Yaya, Silva, Tevez, Aguero, Nasri, before 2012, and Sinclair, Garcia, Fernando, Navas, Jovetic etc after 2012.

Winning the title last year kind of papered over the cracks on our recruitment policy since we appointed a DoF. The quality has absolutely fallen off a cliff. No wonder Mancini didn't want to work in that structure. He was right then, and he's right now. I fear Khaldoon may have backed the wrong horse.

Interesting to read that Vinny was one of the protagonists.

He has been a bag of shit since Mancini left. An absolute liability. I wonder how he feels now, playing under the useless Chilean yes man alongside the £32Mil bomb scare.
