Who does not agree with the £5 ticket

Re: Who does not agree with the £5 ticket

So I joined the "Man United Haters Group" on Facebook, as much as anything to get a rise out of a Rag I know. Sure enough he write me... "why do City fans hate Man U so much? We don't hate you. When you played Aalborg, I was genuinely hoping you'd win". Fair question I suppose. Then he posts again... "by the way, you're only 2 points from safety now!". Comments like that are precisely why we hate you, you smug fcuker! I told him that in a couple of years when City are pummelling them in the prem & Europe (if Man U are still in the Champs league by then), then they would hate us!

So today I get this... "By the way i hope all the blue seats are full for your Hamburg clash as the tickets are now only a fiver!!! maybe all your local lads in that lovely area where your stadium is can now afford to go..LOL" More f'ing smugness! I replied "At least, if they can’t afford to go in this terrible economic time, they don’t have to. Get a Ushited season ticket and you are FORCED to buy all cup / European tickets – a la Gestapo! Such a sweet club! P.S. tix are a fiver cos we're the richest club in the world - we don't need the money!"

It's not the price people are moaning about, it's the fact that people who have never been to a game were allowed to buy fistfuls of tickets ahead of City card and Access card holders. I also hope they do it again but at least give loyal fans a chance to get the tickets they deserve.
Don't think anyone was buying fistfuls of tickets. They were largely season-card holders (going off who I was with, and what I heard at the counter in front of me)
The OP Of 'anyone need a ticket for hamburg at home' begs to differ.

Re: Who does not agree with the £5 ticket

if they gave us all a free ticket with a £1000 personal cheque attatched
certain posters on here would still moan, complain and whine. FFS.

I cant disagree with you mate

Re: Who does not agree with the £5 ticket

All the ones on here who are telling those who are moaning have most probably got their tickets.

The price of £5 for this game was excellent and will ensure a full packed house which is what everybody wants. The way they have been sold has been wrong. At £5 a pop the ground was always going to be full so what is the big rush in selling them? the game isn't for another 3 weeks.

The tickets should of been sold in stages. Seasoncard holders for a few days, then CityCard holders for a few days, then accesscard holders, then on general sale. This would of allowed those who have been to the other europeans games a chance to get a ticket and to give the ticket office some breathing space and not to have the phones and website jammed all day causing inconvinence to alot of people.

I have managed to get 2 tickets tonight off my rag mate who rung up and got 6 tickets, so i am going with 3 rags and a Macclesfield Town fan. That is not right that a rag can ring up and order 6 tickets when lots of blues have been unable to.

The sentiment was there but it has not been well thought out by the club. Hopefully if we beat Hamburg then the semi final tickets arrangements will be more thought out.

Re: Who does not agree with the £5 ticket

Just for balance, the only people I heard talking in the queue were a couple of people who said they had 'never been before' and a bloke who said he had 'been twice'.

Doesn't seem right, does it?

Anyway, as a hard nosed business, would it be the worst thing in the world for them to attract a load of people who they hope to convert. I don't think so and I don't think it woulld work either (whilst also possibly pissing off the real fans). But it wouldn't be the most ridiculous thing in the world, given that they might think that the main group who they get revenue from (season ticket holders) will be guaranteed anyway

But if (an obviously this is the last thing I want) we get smacked in Hamburg, how many people will want to turn up to COMS is they know we have to win 3-0 just to draw it for instance? I guess they are doing it this early to make sure it is a full house.

I agree with you, though.

thats how i always thought it was done!? .......... i have seaon ticket so not had to check this.

Re: Who does not agree with the £5 ticket

I don't know if it's being said before but it might just be a very well thought out, shrewd bit of marketing - there's nothing you want to go to more than something you can't get a ticket for.

Ot it could just be City being crap...

this makes me feel fuckin sick. Tell them to fuck off back to trafford. wankers

Re: Who does not agree with the £5 ticket

I think price is a big issue week in and week out and is a big reason why we don't fill our ground regularly.

Attending matches is an expensive hobby and fans who follow City home and away will know what I'm talking about.

At present a ticket for any home game costs at least 20 if not 30 pounds.

I love the cheap tickets - if tickets were 5.00 all the time we would be packed every week.

Re: Who does not agree with the £5 ticket

Should always have cheap tickets espescially for early round cup games

When ever any one comes on here with suggestions to fill the ground by City selling cheap tickets or giveing comps away they get shot down to shit by fans on here arguing City is a buisness & must make money & if you cant aford to go tough shit .Now City have at long last biten the bullet & done it they get slagged of by the very same fans who would not pay £20 to go in the last round .I for one am glad it will be full & hope City sell tickets again at this price for cup games next season

agreed, its not like we need the money.

Re: Who does not agree with the £5 ticket

my dad was gunna get tickets but said the webste was down and the ticket office was hard to get to, so he said hed phone tommorow, but they then retracted the cheap tickets :( only a tenner though soon so well probably still go!
