Who have you brought into the City family?

son and two daughters, ages now 36,30 and 26,all bonkers blues. All three maintain that being blues has contributed to them being the people they are,all three have a great outlook on life and regard for other people.I am now 58 and a new poster,so forgive me rambling a bit. I am from a family of blues back to early 1900's and I get abit emotional about the subject,so please be gentle with me until I get a few more posts under my belt.
Also, all 4 of us have converted my wife of 37 years from red to blue!! how about that?

not too shabby pal

I told my dad I wanted to go and watch CITY he wasn't in to football but did come from MOSS SIDE even though we now lived in romiley stockport so really excited as a 7 year old i sat down to watch my beloved man city who i had told all my mates at school i was going to see and as the excitement built up in me f****** MAN UNITED & BURNLEY walked out onto the pitch this i couldn't believe and to be honest i don't think my dad even realised anyway FATE took its turn STEVE KINDON scored the winner for Burnley and my day was made up i knew there and then MAN UNITED WERE SHIT whatever some specky twat in the playground said. I asked my dad if i could go and watch CITY next time and he agreed so 2. 2 weeks later we went to watch CITY at MAINE ROAD so there I was heart pounding waiting for my beloved City when onto the pitch comes CITY RESERVES V STOKE RESERVES i thought (if a 7 year old could in 1970) ARE YOU TAKING THE F&&&&&& PISS DAD or what but true to city form i think WILLIE DONACHIE scored a equalizer for STOKE(own goal) with a header from outside the 18 yard box & everybody laughed and that just about summed up for me in the following 40 years what following CITY is all about. PS I did get to see CITY but not with me DAD v Liverpool soon after the beginning of a lifetime love affair something I have tried to install in my 3 KIDS all CITY DAFT

I have been City evangelising for years!

I got into city as a young kid in Withington not because of immediate family (my parents werent footy fans or from Manc) but through my mums brother who took me when i was 7 to Maine rd, got me my first shirt when I was 6 and had started indoctrinating me before.

Anyway from day 1 I was mad for it, so both my younger brothers were indoctrinated Blue and both my parents got into it because of our fanaticism. left manchester in the late 80's and have accidentally turned a lad at school blue, have turned a few aussies blue and now have a 2 year old who goes round saying city city city and a wife (an aussie) who after coming with me to Wembley in 99 (admittedly after seeing such great teams as Bristol Rovers, Wigan, brentford, Fulham, rotherham, port vale first) became a fan.

The disease has now passed to my brothers wife also an Aussie and my littlest brother managed to convert two Oxford United mates to season ticket holders at Coms.

If there is a City equivalent to the mormons/jehovahs witness idea that you can earn your way to heaven by converting people I will be there.

I took a member of this board (ant emilydesign) to his first city game - he wasn't really attached to any team back then. I think the game was home to Blackburn when edghill scored. Anyway, he never looked back and is now a an obsessed season ticket holder.

My wife was a Liverpool fan when we first got together but now she is a Blue and has been a season ticket holder for the last 8 years, bought my lad a season ticket when he was 9 months old.
I think though my greatest achievement was to convert my Godson to a blue, he was a United fan and loved Wayne Rooney and wore a Utd shirt with his name on the back. Not put off by this I persisted in taking him to home games and even bought him a home kit.
He came to the derby last Wednesday and wore his City top with Tevez on the back. Job done!!!!

I am 49 years old, City mad like the rest of you, lived for a while in the shadow of the light of the ticket office floodlight at Maine Road.
Spent 34 years in the forces with still 5 years to serve, but I have still managed to get my 3 kids 19, 20, 23 into City in a big way, not easy when you end up living away for 8 years, serving overseas in 'hot places' but still last night up in EL3 I looked at the kids and thought at least we are one family 'City'
They have sat in the North stand watching Crewe, been to York, went to Wembley 99 stood at Boro last year in the snow and rain and will be there next time.
Would we change anything ? no, what did they enjoy most I ask them? Keegan days, you score 2 we will score 3, the City banter, the highs and the lows, what did they dislike most, me making them walk the entire ground last year putting the ticker tape out 2 hrs before the Derby :) but I take great pride in the fact that they have stuck by the team and still beg me to buy them tickets.....oh ye that part has never changed.
Who have you brought into the fold and have they stayed?

i'm 45,married the first time in my life to an angel from thailand in 2006,our son was born in 2007, two days later we beat them twats 1-0 at coms,i'd started a new job 5 days before all that, what a week ! on top of all that thaksin was our new owner too from thailand although my wife hated him then and now with a passion.

the rest of my big familly are all blues by birth apart from 2,one auntie and her daughter rags

cmon city

I have pursuaded my girlfriend to become a blue, he dad and bro are reds so that feels good.
Have also convinced my work mates to follow city as they "dont really follow soccer". They dont enjoy it as much as auzzie rules, because there arnt too many goals, but they are slowly but surely getting it and feeling the passion for the blues.

My nephew from Toronto. He is a big hockey fan but has pledged himself to wearing his shirt to hockey games and spreading the word to his hockey mates. It's in the blood.
