If were sticking with Hughes then we need to let Hughes buy the players, not let the club buy the players.

Look at who he 'found' while at Blackburn, and he aint done bad business for us in the short time he's been here,
He may not buy 'superstars' but if he gets good quality players that can make a great team, you have got to be happy with that.
 
I don't know why Mark Hughes has so much difficulty. In Fifa '09 I took charge of the blues and won the Champions League in my second season in charge, its really not that difficult.

the signing I want above all others is Franck Ribery, I know its a massive long shot but the man is class and if we put him on the left it allows robbie to play in a free role up front and with the passing ability of Ribery there is no question they would be a force to be reckoned with
 
Couldn't be arsed reading the whole of the original post but if you want to get yourself worked up about who he might buy when there is no evidence to suggest he will (apart from Santa Cruz but I suspect that won't happen)then good luck to you. I think he is more likely to buy players that are hungry to prove themselves and have the right ethic and mentality, players like Kompany and De Jong at Hamburg, Zabaleta in Spain, Bellamy at West Ham- OK he is a bit older but there is fire in his belly... oh hang on, we've bought them....

I'm happy to wait and see instead of getting upset on supposition. He just better not buy Gary Neville.... or Tony Adams... etc etc etc

If you exclude Robinho (ADUG signing) and Jo, TBH (Thaksin/pre Hughes signings) then I am very impressed with Hughes ability to pick out a player.

Kompany, De Jong, Zabaleta, Given, SWP have all been big improvements for the squad and when all fit mean Vassell doesn't make the bench which has to be a good thing. Bellamy & Bridge are so-so for me but at worst they are decent squad players and Bellamy especially would be useful as an impact sub with his pace. Even TBH, on the face of it, looked like a good buy as he was probably Bolton's best player when there - pity he completely screwed up at City.

If I was ADUG I'd be happy to let Hughes spend their money

Complete bollocks. We are not going to qualify for the Europa League, but our omission from the tournament will have no bearing on whom we sign or who wants to join us. We are talking about a second rate competition, which nobody really cares anything about except possibly the participants. Come next season I bet nobody here will remember the names of the two finalists. As for RSC, he had his chance and blew it. He could have demanded that Big Sam let him go in January for 18 million, but chose not to. His loss, especially now that his injury prone status is there for all to see. No wonder Bayern let him go.
 
what about andres guardado from deportivo la coruna? he's only a kid and looks a decent prospect on the left wing.
still can't understand why we want small forwards ie. tevez, when if we were to buy a quality left winger we could run robbie in that position and play a decent 4-4-2 for once
