the three teams that came up in May are currently occupying the bottom three places in the Premier League. Is a gap now developing that is so huge that no team at present in the Championship can possibly survive in the top tier? Are all promoted clubs doomed to struggle for survival?
No 2/3 promoted clubs stayed up last season. Hull look very safe this season and in recent years we have the examples of Southampton, Swansea and now West Ham. If anything the gap between the bottom teams in the Premiership and the Championship is closing as seen by how hard clubs are finding it to bounce straight back despite parachute payments.

Has it ever happened where the three teams that come up go straight back down?

I think that will happen this year - Burnley 20th QPR 19th Leicester 18th

But West Brom/Sunderland/Villa will all stay up on the last day.

Burnley - They Remind me of when Derby county came up several years back, and they got like 3 wins all season. They're not PL material.
Sunderland - They are just a shambles atm. If it does go to the end...I think the kinda teams they were beating last year too stay up, have all got stronger so they wont be lucky this time around imo.
Leicester - although they haven't started too badly don't think they'll keep it up...they'll probably finish like 18th 2 points of safety or something. They look the best out of the newly promoted teams to me.

Unfortunately, I can see dodgy Arry' keeping QPR up just about.
