Of all the players that we've signed, how many times do you think this has happened?

Robinho and Tevez.

Just Robinho i'd say, i think Tevez was basically offered to us by Kia thingy, rather than us specifically targetting him.

I see what you're saying, but we also offered a stupid amount of money for Torres last summer, and a couple of other players (I think Van Persie and someone else) - they fit the bill in terms of being Hughes type players, but they also fit the bill in terms of being Sheikh Mansoor type players if you get what I mean...

You're right though, I imagine Kia shopped Tevez right around Europe...

Agreed. I doubt that of all the players in the world, the sheikh picked a guy who was sitting on the bench a lot for united as the one he really wanted. You could even quesiton Robinho, as he was the one we got after a splattergun approach that saw us bid for 5 other players including Mario Gomez and berbatov, who the sheikh probably hardly knows

I think that grossly underestimates how much of a football fan the Sheikh was when he bought the club...

Wasn't that Kia guy employed by City around the time of the Tevez transfer?

He certainly went to more than a few games, and I seem to remember being told that he was our 'go to' agent for big offers.

I think we've dealt with him since Thaskin took over, it was either him or Pini Zahavi (i get mixed up between the 2) who basically sorted out all Svens transfers in record time.
