Vinny for me is huge this season. We need a settled CB pairing that we didnt have last year and VK was nowhere bear his best. We get a him back to his best and a lot of the other stuff falls into place.

I will go for a group here and say Pellegrini and all those players on defence, including the holding midfielders.

Defence will be the most important and deciding aspect of the team. Management, preparation, coordination, communication, setting up for set pieces, injuries (I.e Kompany), full backs (both left and right) and consistency.

Regardless of the attacking players we sign, the key to this season is to work and rectify the defensive problems of last season and that will be a major decider on how the season pans out.

Was going to ask who's going to have a great year and for me it's Silva. He's experienced in the league now coming into his prime and last year started scoring a few goals. Sterling could be a good signing for him and I just get the feeling he'll have a big year. So long as the snide twats at other clubs stop hacking down his ankles.

Yeah I agree with that to be fair. In terms of putting someone in Silva's place, we have Nasri or a more advanced Yaya. In terms of replicating his performance and impact we have nobody!

Nail on the head. A solid defence allows the rest of the team to perform. This applies to most league winning sides ever.
Once this is in place we will really need Yaya, David and Sergio to do their stuff.

I think losing Silva would be less of a blow than it would have been in previous seasons, should we sign De Bruyne. We can just change style. So I'd have to say Aguero. Need him available for at least 90% of the season.

For me, it has to be Manuel. I like Pellegrini so this is not a dig.
He needs to sort out the continuity in defence and stop leaving our midfield
so open, in the big games. If these are addressed, i think we'll go a long way
in all competitions.
