stuart pearce. anyday. worse football i can remember . 6 mill for samaras!

Pearce kept us up

he also brought samaras on vs chelsea (at home, losing 1-0)for last 15mins, and put him on the right
wing against ashley cole!

We had a football quiz book brought into work the other day which has 20 questions for each Club.

I couldn't believe one question similar to this...

Which Manchester City legend was the youngest player in the 1966 England World Cup Winning Team?

Legend??? Must be a Rag who came up with the questions.

Ball had us waste time and play for a draw last game of the season when we needed a win to stay up, Samaras was a judgement call playing out time when you need to win was just fucking stupid.

I would honestly struggle to think of a worse football manager in the history of English football than Alan Ball. His record of taking teams down is shocking, he didn't have a clue tactically and his activity in the transfer market was poor.

Whatever Hughes is, he isn't Alan Ball.

i think the whole of the first team team wrote to the club to complain when ron saunders was appointed manager..so my vote goes to ron or big mal second time around as much as i loved the guy

Gotta agree, Alan Ball was the worst - and by some distance too (which is a heck of statement, when you think about it) .

By the way...
Did anyone else hear the story about how when Colin Bell got injured, Tony Book wanted to sign Ball (as a player, obviously) but Swales wouldn't stump up the cash? That year, Liverpool went on the win the league (and a few European cups, afterwards).
