Who now then?...

Solid defense, decent left foot, knows the premier league and played in Manchester before. Anyone reckon we could tempt Jonny Evans away from Leicester having not got Jorginho, ticks a lot of boxes.
When did Jonny Evans ever play in Manchester?

Frankly with 2 uncapped Brazilians going for around 40m,I think we have to be realistic on prices. Anyone who improves our team now is going to cost 70m upwards.

Drive-by videos like this one (with no further explanation) are getting pretty tiresome IMO.

I love the bits of info on here as much as the next guy, but I mean, why not just say: "Don't hold your breaths" or "not quite finished yet" instead? Simple, effective, and harmless.

I'd like to see a more offensive option at right back. Walker has been tremendous for us, providing great defensive cover - even if he's caught out by a deft pass or by being out-of-position - Walker's pace is such that he's nearly always back in position to make a great defensive play, which he almost nearly does do.

But going forward, Walker's passing and especially crossing isn't nearly as good as - for example - Mendy's.

To be clear - Walker is a huge asset in our side - but his offensive output isn't as good as we might hope for and a more attacking RB in our side would afford us the option to play more aggressively overall if circumstances warrant.
I agree with this but I think it's probably something for a future window. Danilo is decent if not brilliant going forward and Walker gives us some defensive balance with him perhaps being able to support the centre backs in a pseudo back 3 when Mendy pushes forward, similar to how Barcelona used to when Dani Alves pushed forward as an auxillary attacker. I think in the future Danilo could be replaced with someone younger, faster and with a better final ball to give that more offensive option, but I think that's much lower on the list of priorities than strengthening our deep midfield, and next window finding a kompany replacement.

I just think we need an extra quality player in midfield, whether it be a number 8 or a number 6. Gundogan is capable of playing the no.6 role in the way Pep wants it played. He proved that last season, so if we sign a more offensive player then Gundogan can deputise for Fernandinho, if we sign a player more comfortable in a deep role then Gundogan can deputise for DeBruyne or Silva. I just worry with possible injuries and wanting to make further progress in the champs league we may come up short if we don't sign 1 more player for the middle of the park.
