Who remembers Citys Lottery

‘North Didsbury’
The laugh we used to have about students moving into rough arse streets in Longsight after being told by their letting agent it was ‘Victoria Park’
That was me! - 1987 - Birchfields Avenue - burgled twice in six months. Handy for The International 1 though.

I grew up round that end, it certainly wasn’t Victoria Park!

We were absolute outcasts. Everybody in the area hated us. Aside from good kebabs on the Stockport Road and the handy 192 bus route, there was little affection for Longsight from me.

I use to sell them around 1980-81 didn't make much but always sold my quota, but the bonus was we went to Wembley and I got a ticket behind nets so with mine and the lottery ticket got a mate in

The bloke with the army jacket used to sell lottery tickets when everyone was queueing for hours on end for match tickets. Never knew his name but always smiling and used to cheer everyone up.
