To be fair to the person who did say that, the motive wasn't to lose so that Hughes gets sacked, it was that 3 points for Chelsea is more likely to stop the rags winning the title than 1 point for us is likely to propel us to 7th. I think we'll win the UEFA cup this season anyway, so getting into Europe hopefully won't be a problem.
