Who should be the next leader of the Tory party?

Truss would probably be the preferred option for those of us who want to see the Tories kicked out of office at the next election, as she is utterly braindead. I actually think she’d be a downgrade on Johnson, which is some achievement. That said, I really don’t want to see the country completely fucked for another 2 years so hopefully tonight’s performance will seriously damage her chances.

This lady is not for learning.

The more you read about Kemi Badenoch the worse she gets, a proper US-style right winger.

It will be quite worrying if she isn't gone in the next vote.

I only watched a small amount, but it seemed obvious that only Sunak knows anything about the economy, and tore Truss apart over her waffle on the subject.
Of the bit I saw, Mordaunt and Badenoch seemed determined to talk of themselves rather than answer the questions. Didn't see much of Tugendhat to know.

I love (hate) the way they are all coached to emphasise points with hand gestures ,it looks so blatantly false , do they really think we can’t see through that kind of shit!
The one that I hate, and is a dead giveaway for the those who want to show they care but wont do it, is the closed upward fist. Usually starts with ‘Look’, to ensure you‘re looking the other way but that fist that can give will never open.

Pure lies.

I have to admit, Sunak takes responsibility for his actions and tells it like it is. The rest, well …

For what it’s worth…Truss lol

Tonight we asked over 1000 normal voters to watch the debate and we have just asked them who they thought performed best - Opinium Research

Results:
Tugendhat 36%
Sunak 25%
Mordaunt 12%
Badenoch 12%
Truss 6%
Yeah, but Brexit proved there's a lot of abnormal voters out there.

Tugendhat would be the most sensible choice but doubt he will even make the final 2 unfortunately.

I think he has what it takes to organise an airlift out of Kabul and the nation wide provision for standpipes and bottled water in the soon to arrive heatwave and drought however I think it takes more than a 7 year veteran MP and Lt Colonel in the Terriers to run a G8 country at a time of crisis.
