Who should be the next leader of the Tory party?

How nice that Badenoch isn't doing this for herself, but for us.
Think that might be a tough one to sell after her extensive, er 5 years as an MP.

I was wondering if he just means in the style of speaking. They are quite similar in that.
Possibly.
He was a lifelong labour voter (the one I’ve mentioned before) but grew obsessed with Brexit, so wondering if he’s getting a stiffy over his Brexit ambitions?

Is this leadership contest some kind of ploy to keep Boris? It is like some kind of satire. Are they all genuinely as bad as they come across?

Have you ever thought part/ a lot of the problem is the understaffing of doctors, nurses and GPs?
Definitely that’s a problem.
Also the amount of abuse they get off some patients.
It’s always the nurses who cop for it
The patients are as good as gold when the Consultants do the rounds

I think you mean your favourite government.

Perhaps the private hospitals could stump up the taxpayers' contribution to training the doctors and nurses they employ.
I have said on countless occasions I honestly don’t care who is in power so they are not my favourite.
I don’t have a favourite, but on that basis I have been accused of an alright jack attitude
Again I have said there is good and bad in all of them.
Taking it further, perhaps the taxpayer should make a contribution to overseas Doctors who have been trained overseas by countries who have paid for their training and need their services more than we do

Ok how’s this one.
Labour go in to the next Election with Starmer and moderate policies so they have a genuine chance of winning.
Starmer then elects a Centre based Cabinet.
I think we can agree there are a lot of posters on here with left wing views who would feel uncomfortable with that.
What happens if the Cabinet then adopt moderate policies for example, on pay restraint and don’t allow inflation busting pay rises to allow catch up for what the workers thought they should have had under the Tories.
Where do the left go if they find there is very little change from when the Tories were in power and Labour say the wish list from the left is unaffordable without going in to debt.
A bit like what happened under Blair / Brown where policies were moderate.
Would you be prepared to accept there may be very little difference on a personal basis due to affordability or do you demand a shift in policies to the left to be funded by a rise in taxes for everyone and further borrowing to pay for an increase in current spending.
What the country needs irrespective of policies is a return to honesty and integrity in our government. If the money wasted on giving out over inflated contracts to companies run by mates of ministers and the “levelling up” money allocated to Tory marginals was used appropriately we would be in a much better position straight away. If a Labour government managed to reduce the corruption practiced by the government that would be a good start whether new policies were brought in or not. This pretence that the Tories are the party of fiscal prudence is the biggest lie of all.

As for this debate, how dumb does Liz Truss think we are?
Apparently she joined the Tories because kids at her school in Leeds weren’t getting opportunities. Didn’t she realise that there was a Conservative government for every minute she was at school.

Probably why she joined the Liberal Democrats when up at Oxford…
